Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Sweeney must have been deleted,. Dave M is frickin.interesting though. If it's the same guy, that's the main organizer of the rally who went on to run for the BOT on a cultist platform. Wonder if his grandkids had him kidnapped and deprogrammed in some roadside motel?

It's PedState: more likely his grandkids gave him a five-minute head start, then hunted him down, BBQ'd and ate him.

Jack Sweeney bringing the rain is in the comments section of the Daily Collegian (Penn State student newspaper), not the Yahoo link about honorong Joesus. Sweeney's body of work is still there.

As an added bonus, John Tratur/pnnylion even puts in an appearance to ask who was "raped?" BWI Joebot Bill Levinson also has several high-quality delusions in the comments section.

Obviously you don't understand that prior to Paterno building the football program into being one of the premier programs in the country, PSU was just another state university not known for anything in particular. As the football program grew and Joe advocated tirelessly for the importance of the student-athlete and for winning the "right way" with actual students -- the school was put on the map nationally and with recognition in football came large donations and alumni who wanted to be part of his Grand Experiment which included making PSU a better university in all areas -- not just in football. Read Joe's speeches to the Board in which he challenged them to make the school a great educational institution not just a "good" university.

culture problem? what culture problem?

Okay, so I finally met a Penn State cultist in the wild.

I was near the WV border, sorta, near Athens, OH. This is not exactly neutral territory, but it isn't Columbus.

At this gas station, while waiting way longer in line than what Good n Plentys deserve, I said something offhand and innocuous, or so I thought, due to this guy's hat. Something like, "good luck this season, you guys are back in the mix."

I wasn't wearing OSU garb or anything, but I must have had an OSU scent or something, whatever that is. The guy said, "fuck you, you don't know what we know."

"What do you know?"

"All you do is listen to the news."

". . . Okay [quizzically], um what?"

"You wouldn't get it."

Then he left. I was sorta, well completely, confused. What is it that they know?

Just accept that they know.

They have always known.

It is only Joe who was in the dark.

Joe didn't know anything. That's all YOU need to know.
I like to think he was referencing Kierkegaard and his views on existentialism, and the trials of a man who doesn't care in an absurdist world, a la Camus and the Stranger, being put on trial and not recognizing the system or the world.

Or he could just be a redneck cultist. Whichever.
