Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

This is the single point that they will never understand or accept. Somehow they think that if they add more people to the list of those that did nothing it waters down the percentage of culpability that Joesus has.
Yep. There are many people to blame for allowing those kids to be abused for all those years. The one with the statues and cardboard cutouts tends to draw more focus because they set it up that way.

Well, that, and the fact that Paterno had pretty much ultimate power to stop anything he wanted. Heck, he was the guy PSU put on the phone to the White House when they needed things done. I think he could have made sure someone found out who the kid in the shower was and made sure he got the appropriate help from police and counselors.

THEY DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO GET THE KID'S NAME AND MAKE SURE HE WAS OKAY.

That one point is really all anyone needs to know to condemn the whole lot of them.

Nailed it. The cult can dance on the heads of a million pins, parse every sentence of the Freeh report and wallow in all the facts and evidemts they can muster, but none of it outweighs Paterno and his cronies refusal to either find this kid or send an appropriate agency of the state to find him.

Game fucking over, man. You lose, cult. You get nothing. GOOD DAY!

Tom McAndrew has started a teaser thread hinting that more e-mails will be forthcoming, with new "bombshells." Naturally, The Cult falls all over themselves to glean any morsel of new information they can, while dreaming that this "new" information will bring down the NCAA/Emmert/PSU BoT.

Post from McAndrew:

Tom McAndrew: "It's my understanding that they are bad for the NCAA.

It's my understanding that they also make the BOT/PSU leadership look bad. As to whether you think that's good for us, or bad for us, depends on how you view the situation."

They didn't want to want to know his name. He was just a road bump to the facade that was "success with honor". Not wanting to know his name gave them some sense of deniability. There was a confirmed story of a guy that abused by a PSU prof when he was a kid. Later in life the guy ended up getting incriminating recordings where the prof basically admitting to molestation that happened years prior. The guy sent Spanier the tapes and they were returned unopened. Spanier later said he didn't recall the incident. If you want an example of how they 'handled' things at PSU there it is.

Let it all come out. There's plenty of room for the NCAA, the BOT, Joesus, and the Cult to ALL coming off looking even worse than they currently do. Also, regardless of how it turns out for the cult, for the good of humanity I'd like to see a very serious investigation of The Second Mile.

The only explanation I can personally find for why this hasn't already happened is that there must be some very well-off, influential pedophiles in Pennsylvania.

I thought the day would never come, but The Cult has apparently now found out there is an online site called "Wikipedia." And, get this, the entries of public figures can be edited on this Wikipedia thing. :sarcastic: The Cult has now edited Mark Emmert's page to read that "On November 10, 2014 it was revealed during the course of a deposition in the case of Corman vs NCAA, that Mark Emmert directs his staff to regularly update his Wikipedia page and remove anything he finds not to his liking."

The Cult is actually now trying to figure out how to edit images on Wikipedia, LOL.

Are these emails they found really all that damning against the NCAA? So they had internal discussions about whether or not they'd be overstepping their bounds. That doesn't automatically make it true.

And the bottom line is... who gives a shit if they did have the discussion? It's called due diligence. They would be fools not to have some internal dialog about this. Their lawyers would have advised this course regardless of the final decision.

No links from me at the moment. Just a funny thought: What if Tom McAndrew is really a troll?
