Penn State at tOSU, Sat. 10/21, 12pm EST, FOX

I don't know what pictures he has, but I cannot understand why we have a dedicated special teams coach, especially considering the production. I mean, if he was a recruiting ace, ok. But... I don't follow it like a lot of guys here do.... is he landing guys?

Didn't think so

Old number 33 is on the staff.... maybe it's time to let him recruit?

I’m getting more sold on our D after they’ve handled business thus far and huge this game is at home. I think we handle business but it’s going to be a 4Q battle. We’ll likely start slow and benefit from coach James’ big game coaching! Marv and Gronk will be huge and looking for JTT to black out again!

I hope everyone has paid their ref fund dues :pimp:
So I paid up to 2016, and I got ripped off that year. I said I'd pay again when I get what I paid for in 2016. I haven't gotten it. In fact, watch the 4th down play at the end of the first half in 2020, and tell me the clock operator did his job correctly. They owe me for 2016 and 2020.

But I've paid for 2023. Deliver on this one, refs, and I'll forgive the debts from 2016 and 2020.

Yeah which I don’t get. This Penn State team has played a worse schedule than ttun for crying out loud.

Shit, this Penn State team isn’t even as good as last years team. I’ll freaking say it. They aren’t.

That’s been all I have heard all year so far and that’s just not true. They aren’t as good at Corner or at DT and they’re roughly the same everywhere else on defense. They aren’t as good at WR, OL or at QB.

Onto the QB, last year they had a weapon outwide to hurt us but more importantly Clifford was always tough to keep in the pocket. His ability to move, run read option and pick up respectable yards was important for them. This year they they have a first year starting QB, with a good but not great OL, with a pretty noticeable gap at WR when comparing to years prior. If this Penn State offense can’t run the ball what are they going to do because they have no ability to get down the field. Because Drew Allar has no ability to move to pick up key first downs. He’s a pure pocket guy and those are guys that get freaking harassed vs a defense like ours.

Now I do think their defense is good but their numbers are completely because of who they’ve played. They’ve played two D1AA teams, Northwestern, Illinois and freaking IOWA. Their toughest game was vs West Virginia who had a limited amount of success. They’ve played no one and I’m not sure how that prepares them for what they’ll face on Saturday.

Serious Question, are they really better than ND? I don’t think so.

I think ND has by far the better secondary, better interior defense and the linebackers are a push IMO. Yes Penn State has the better ability to rush with their DE and that’s where the game will be decided. If we can neutralize their blitz and rush we’ll have success and I think a lot of it.

Btw, ND has a better offense than Penn State too. They both have trash at WR but give me NDs OL and experience at QB all day over these Penn State guys.

We’ve played better teams than this and that’s going to show up in this game. Particularly McCord is going to show up in this game and be ready but is Drew Allar really going to be ready? Short answer is absolutely not.
