Then why drink anything?

Don't mean to answer for Dryden, but I do black coffee in the AM and that's about it during the work week. I only do breakfast with my son while I have him on the weekends.

Just because you are not hungry in the morning, doesn't mean you can't enjoy a good cup of coffee.

i generally eat well (read: healthy) when i give myself one cheat meal per week. i'll eat a whole large pizza and a bunch of cookies or a pint of ice cream. such a meal makes the rest of the week bearable and produces no guilt while splurging.
I do this too.

See, I could eat garbage, be a ply of the medical industry, and live to 85, or I could eat healthy (whatever the definition of healthy is) and die at 78. Hell, I could be doing all this and wind up getting clipped by a car on my evening walk tonight. Who knows what will kill them?

Besides which, I've already sired my brood. I survived and advanced, and am no longer eligible for a Darwin Award. I'm ready to go any time, I've done my job.

I eat whole, natural foods 80% of the time. But if I can't enjoy a pizza, a pint of ice cream, and a beer every once in awhile, that the hell was the whole point of being here?

For me, this has nothing to do with longevity specifically; it's about the compression of morbidity. When I go, whatever day that is, I just want to be active and med-free.

The most important thing is don't eat the monocot grass seeds (corn, soy, wheat, oats, &c).

It's a good read.

LOL, you're killing me here  If I told my doctor that he'd either rotflhao or slap me silly. I know that many years ago ealry man wouldn't have touched the stuff but we've evolved as omnivores and we need carbs to survive, in the long run avoiding carbs does more harm than good, it's what are body uses to make fuel.

Indeed. And veggies are a helluvalot better than grains.

I really think, for your own good, you should talk to a real nutritionist.

For me, personally, my naturopath is fully on board as he ascribes to the same diet.

The key is moderation. A well balanced diet and regular exercise will make you as right as rain. If you keep this up you're going to start having kidney and liver problems. Don't take my word for it though, talk to someone who specializes in nutrition, it could save your life :)

I intend on getting my blood work done in September of this year. When I do, I'll share the results and what I was last September. Last October, I started P90x and slowly transitioned to a Primal Diet (90% of the time). I have lost weight (even though I didn't need to), and feel absolutely great. I don't work out excessively, and I maintain where I am. The object is to find something sustainable.

Usually about once a week I'll get a 12" pizza with pepperoni and sausage at Patsy's and a pint of gelato or ice cream. I'm really not much of a junk food eater. I don't eat french fries, cakes, cookies, chips, soda, fast food.... I do occasional enjoy red licorice. My other weakness is Indian & Thai food. Give me some lamb masala, vegetable korma, naan bread or any kind of curry and I'm in heaven.

dont see to many overweight Indians........I'd say that's a good weakness to have. Except for sodium

Week 3 of my modified P90X in the books. I had to take it easy the second half of last week since I had to be able to swing a club for a golf outing last Saturday and we were out of town from Friday-Monday. Had 4 days this week and I'm not quite as sore as I was the first week. This week I did Arm & Shoulders, Kenpo, Chest & Back, and Plyo. I still have to do girl push-ups and I'm using bands so the chin-ups are manageable. I do feel the push-ups in my chest a little this week instead of all in the tri's like week one. I'm up to 1/2 to 3/4 sets on Plyo from 1/3 to 1/2 the first time through and I can still walk unlike week one. My pulse gets up to 170-180 on some of the exercises so that is when I cut the sets short. I don't have enough time to hit pause and do full sets. I figure it will get better as I go.
I have 2 more 5 day weeks until I go on vacation so I'll need to choose an extra workout. Does anyone have any recommendations to try? I don't have enough time before work for Yoga so nothing that takes more than an hour.

One thought to leave you on. Do they call her Blam because she's black Pam? Discuss

Yeah thought that was pretty obvious, Tony definately did that subconsciously at least. I always wondered how many times the annoying corn cob pull up chick had to blow Tony before she got on the DVDs. I put the over under at 3.5.

Did my first leg workout in these the other day. I have a new soreness in my legs, very different then doing it with cross trainers on. Good stuff. Pretty similar to the time I did Plyo in my bare feet.

I've got a pair of the KSOs. Had them for over a year. Love 'em!

Getting ready to start week 9 on Monday. Down 33 lbs and have lost 3" off my waist.

I'm glad I stuck with it this time around. Gave up way too early the first time I attempted it.
Fuck it. Have some refined sugar to celebrate.

Kudos sears. really.

Started week 1 on Saturday. Plyo kicked my ass yesterday, and I wasn't even close to doing the amount of reps that they do in the video. Pulse was up to 166 at one point, so I had to keep close track of that. Two hours after doing plyo, I cleaned out all of the duct work from our clothes dryer to the vent, and took down our old mailbox and installed a new one. Not exactly the smartest way to recover from the shock of my first plyo workout. I was pretty much done moving, for the day, by 4PM. Pretty sore today.
