Started week 1 on Saturday. Plyo kicked my ass yesterday, and I wasn't even close to doing the amount of reps that they do in the video. Pulse was up to 166 at one point, so I had to keep close track of that. Two hours after doing plyo, I cleaned out all of the duct work from our clothes dryer to the vent, and took down our old mailbox and installed a new one. Not exactly the smartest way to recover from the shock of my first plyo workout. I was pretty much done moving, for the day, by 4PM. Pretty sore today.

I could hardly walk for a few days after my first Plyo workout. The second time around I was able to do more reps per set and my legs were just tired rather than sore. I think I'm going to have to cut back on some of the jumping because my bad knee didn't like the high impact stuff last time.
I can't imagine how much harder this would be if I was using a chin-up bar and weights rather than bands. I'm 4 weeks into my diet and 3 weeks into P90x and I'm down 16 lbs. I was hoping to drop 30 to 40 pound in the 6 weeks leading up to my vacation, but it doesn't look like I'll make it. I'm hoping the P90x workouts are adding some good weight that is countering some of the fat that I'm burning. 7 more lbs and I'm under 300, which I think is a doable goal for the next 11 days.
It's already getting hard to make myself get up in the morning so I'm hoping I can jump back into this after my vacation. If I could do what I'm doing even without the hardcore dieting for the rest of the year I would probably be pretty fit by Christmas.

I used bands for chest and back, but I'll be picking up my old weights on my way home from work so I can do arms and shoulders tonight. I'll probably also get the push-up bars and take a look at a pull-up bar. I don't feel like I got a whole lot out of the bands, in place of pull-ups, and even though I got a decent workout with the bands when weights were used, my bands are old, and I already had one of the high resistance bands break on me.

Nothing like waking up on your birthday for some Plyo. I dread this day all week. Up to at least 2/3 sets on everything and just a little trouble walking now. Now I just need to figure out what I want to do tomorrow. I'm debating between Back and Biceps and Core Synergies, both would be new to me.

I wouldn't recommend Core Synergistics right after Plyo. Definitely go with the Back and Biceps.

Just got done with Day 1 (Chest and Back) and Ab-Ripper X...fucking hell.

My arms literally tried to quit on me, I was nowhere near their rep levels. Amps me up for next week's go around though...gotta show better than that!

Just do what you can, you'll improve. Keep at it. Save some life in you for Plyo. That'll whoop your ever-loving ass.

Don't sweat it. The pain will subside in about five weeks. :p

Seriously, the first 30 days are hell, the following 30 days are when you start seeing some BIG TIME results, and the final 30 days are actually FUN.

I'm going to Mexico in 5 weeks so I've been dieting, but I need something exercise-wise that I can do in the house. I downloaded the DVD's to give these workouts a shot 4 or 5 days. I'm just planning on picking up some bands and a mat to do it in my basement. I'm thinking I'll try one tonight and then start first thing in the morning Monday.
Anyone who has done this have any thoughts on what would be good to start out with to break in the muscles that I haven't used since my football workouts ended 10 years ago? My wife will kill me if I can't hold the baby this weekend because I can't move my arms. My goal is to focus mostly on arms/shoulders and cardio.
I'd appreciate any advice that can be imparted on me. From past experience I've found it's better for me to start slow and work my way up.

Well it's been nearly a year now since my first P90X workout and I'm down 70 lbs. Noted most of the loss happened during 2 periods where I dieted along with a strict workout plan, but I tried to keep up with some level of workouts for most of the past year. The workouts alone keep me from gaining weight when I take a break from the diet. I can't say I ever did the P90X program, but I've settled into 4 days a week of P90X and 1 day of swimming laps.
For me the hardest part has been forcing myself to get up at 5:45 every weekday to go downstairs and workout. I have some knee problems so Plyo isn't really an option for me if I want to be able to walk so my week looks like Cardio, Arms 1, Kenpo, Arms 2, Swim laps. The coolest thing is that my golf game has gotten a lot better from all the strength work. Still not any good, but I'm better than I've ever been and I'm hitting the ball further.

I started doing yoga a few months ago and a friend suggested I try the Yoga X workout. I'm glad I started with beginners yoga classes a few weeks before taking up the Yoga X routine, but I enjoy the Yoga X more than standard yoga. It's a long workout, about an hour and a half, but it's obviously a more intense yoga workout that helps with stretching and some muscle build. I'm not overly interested in the rest of the P90X workouts, I'm fine with the Yoga X and Ab Ripper X which I do as well.

I do the Yoga X usually every other day and Ab Ripper 2-3 times a week depending on what else I do for physical activity that week. I'm in good shape, eat well and stay active. I just don't have much interest in the "getting ripped" aspect or the strict diet and protein shakes - I don't need it. I just want the flexibility and health for later in life. I'm comfortable with what I've been doing and I have seen some results, although I was staying active before starting these routines, so I wasn't going to see the same turn around as others (Congratulations exhawg!). To each their own, and to everyone, great job putting in the work to stay healthy!

It depends on the objective, but one drink per night is not a bad thing for dieting typically and the anti-oxidants can help quite a bit. It's the quality, not quantity thing.

Eh, I'm mostly referring to binge drinking. Would one night a week be okay when on a strict diet the other days of the week?

Wow that is awesome. Congrats.

Now that my season only has a few weeks left, I'm starting p90 may 18th. Ive lost about 8-10lbs over the past 2 weeks from eating healthier, and not going out to eat. I was hovering around 220 for the past 3 or so months. Down to 212. Looking to end up around 185-190. Put on a bunch of weight since I graduated and started working full time
