This is like the exact opposite of the last decade.
This guy is offended...

Prince Earns Spot On Two-Deep

6_3771399.JPG

Call him the “Fresh(man) Prince of Columbus.”

Actually, don’t do that, unless you want to sound really corny.

Just say Isaiah Prince has been as advertised and then some.

The Ohio State freshman offensive tackle has been the most-impressive member of the Buckeyes’ outstanding five-man offensive line class through the first week of camp. In fact, it’s easy to make the argument he’s been the best true freshman, period, thus far. The 6-foot-7, 305-pound Prince was the first player to get his “black stripe” removed during camp and offensive coordinator/O-line coach Ed Warinner has talked him up quite a bit.

On Sunday at OSU’s media day, Bucknuts caught up with Prince for his thoughts on a number of subjects, beginning with him shedding his black stripe.

“It was a great feeling, Prince said. “It was good to finally get recognized as a Buckeye. I’ve just got to continue to work hard and get better though.”

Bucknuts relayed Warinner’s glowing comments about the young offensive tackle to Prince.

“Yeah, that definitely feels good knowing my position coach thinks very highly of me coming in as a freshman and standing out more than the other freshmen,” Prince said. “That’s definitely a good feeling for me.”

Throughout the offseason, it was known that a true freshman would be needed to round out the Buckeyes’ two-deep on the offensive line. It didn’t take Warinner long to find out who that would be.

“Yes, right now I am in the two-deep,” Prince said. “So, hopefully I’ll just get a few reps this year and learn the system a little bit more and hopefully take over next year.”

Buckeye Football Notebook: 'As a Freshman, He's as Athletic as I've Seen'

15-08-10-FB-0022.jpg

You don't have to be a football coach to watch freshman offensive tackle Isaiah Prince for a bit and realize that the way he moves is different than the way most offensive linemen move.

After only getting to see him for a portion of one freshman practice, it came as very little surprise a couple of days later when he became the first Buckeye freshman to lose his black stripe. Following earlier practices, veteran teammates like center Jacoby Boren appreciated Prince's fundamentals and understanding of technique, which is advanced for a freshman.

That's not the only area where he is advanced for his age.

This is just getting unfair at this point... So after this year we will lose some great Oline talent and then in comes 3 guys who are 6'7" 300 pounds.

Next year our offensive line will probably look like this

Prince-Price-Elflien-Knox-Jones

I mean really?

Burrell could be in the 2 deep as well. I really like this freshman class of OL should see some Pt this year and contribute next season when we will really need some experience.

Haven't you heard the expression?

Ohio State doesn't rebuild they just reload.

You're forgetting that we also have a Sasquatch as a project at OT as well in Feder, who's an absolute behemoth at 6'9 300+lbs! Imagine him in the 2 deep next year beating up Dlineman in garbage time

Boy! Am I glad we beta 'Bama out for Prince!

But regarding the lineup stated above, I think Prince beats out Jones by next year.

I see the lineup as follows:
Jones - Elflien - Knox - Burrell - Prince

Not sure about the interior, except maybe for the RG, but am very confident that, barring injury, Prince beats out Jones for the crucial LT spot.
