I don't really follow coaching seaches, but if I were an AD with a head coach vacancy, I'd seriously consider making a run for Craig Bohl. I've been a proponent for giving successful lower-division coaches a shot at bigger jobs ever since our experience with Coach Tressel.

I've been telling my Husker coworker that if Pelini gets canned, Tom Osbourne would be wise to look to Fargo for his next coach...

Damn, I didn't read your second sentence until replying just now.....but yea that.

If Ohio State gets jobbed in a game there, tell your Jersey mob friends that we have Youngstown mob friends that know people, who know people. You know what I mean?

I enjoyed watching Rutgers during the Schiano era. Only Big East school that I thought wasn't playing a gimmick system back then, when Louisville and WVU were annually in the mix.
Since he left, seems like Rutgers is kind of the decline again... but at least you beat Arky ? I don't know much else b/c I haven't followed Rutgers closely.
Academically, Rutgers is another outstanding addition to the conference.

They are fun to watch... and way too often will have one major bonehead play that costs them a few games a year...
They're very quick.. they fly around... and when a tackle is made, the Knights will have 9 helmets in the picture
Seems their entire front 7 are all about small to medium sized LBs in most other conferences.. lots of heart..
A top shelf kicker alone would have probably been worth more than a dozen victories in the last 5 years

I think they have all but one requirement. They arent an athletic traditional power. A large, academic school in an area we want to claim. The cool thing is the area is a pro sports area. The big ten wants to change that, and get our schools visibility with a lot of people and potential recruiting hotbed. Good for rutgers because this can help them turn into the local power school, in an area where there currently is none. Rutgers is great because they have the size, alumni base and money to take advantage. I think of it like when the sec added arky and uscjr. I am very excited to see rutgers grow in the conference and think in a decade they will be in great shape.

My wife grew up in New Jersey so we have always followed Rutgers somewhat since we've been together (since the early 00's). It always seemed that Rutgers would hang with anyone for a half or three quarters, than whoever they were playing (Miami, VT, etc.) would pull away. Scrappy team though. Loved the brand of football played under Schiano. Rutgers seems to be getting a rude welcome into the B1G with the schedule next year, especially considering they are in a bit of a down cycle, but I will be very curious how they (and Maryland) handle the B1G middle of the pack.

If we are still in Connecticut in two years, we will definitely be at tOSU at Rutgers game at Giants Stadium (this game will have to be at that stadium, otherwise they are leaving loads of cash on the table, something the B1G suits seldom do). Looking forward to taking a train to a Buckeyes game!!

I'm thinking of going to the game today, especially if they're doing a "if you have any student ID, you get a cheap ticket" thing to try and fill more seats for the TV cameras. Of course, if those 30 yard line seats are still available at $25-30, I'll do those.
