The above article mentions a number of 2016 players that were evaluated this past weekend in Indianapolis and Lexington in addition to when guys play at the King James Classic.

Here is a tweet about a So PG from UW. He would have two years left using his RS year as his transfer year.

Nigel Williams-Goss told ESPN he will visit Gonzaga this weekend and Ohio State the following weekend. Has been to UNLV and Providence.

I think its clear that Matta wants a PG that has some size. Lyle may play some point but isn't going to be as much of a ball handler as Russell.

The question is what one-two players leave for whatever reason. Loving could be on short time depending on violations/attitude. We will know by the end of this upcoming year if Bell will ever really play. If he can't beat out Thompson and Giddens, why stick around for 3 more years of sitting when you can transfer to the MAC and play.

I am as guilty as the next guy when it comes to talking about transfers but please let's not get into speculation about who might go because none of us have any idea.

Honestly, OSU doesn't have any guys they know they will be able to count on next year aside from Tate, so pretty much anybody else could be a possible transfer. Kam Williams is a kid who I would hope works out the problems with his shooting because a good, quick and athletic shooting guard like Kam would be an ideal complement to Lyle in the backcourt.

It will be interesting to see if Williams-Goss jumps aboard, to me he seems similar to Russell in a lot of ways, I'd put Williams-Goss as #1 right now on the list of recruiting targets. Hopefully he doesn't commit to Gonzaga this weekend.

Williams-Goss is really nothing like Russell. Don't really want him at all.

Really If someone is to leave, you would not want a pure PG who averaged around 15 points per game with 5 assist along with 5 rebounds last season and was rated as the #5 PG
coming out of high school in 2013. Might not be like Russel but if Matta thinks he is good enough to play at Ohio State that is good enough for me no matter what :bonk:you may think.

Three-point pct was south of 30%, FT% was below 80. So he's not like Russell.

With that said, I'm happy to take Matta's word if he wants the guy. Left to my own preferences, though, he wouldn't be high on my radar.

I don't argue with either of these comments. But if the question is asked who do I want at the point, I'm not so limited by the insider's view of how likely we are to get that candidate to Columbus.

Just a different perspective. Thad has settled into his role, and like it or not we're not attracting the very top-tier recruits that, in 2004-05, it appeared as though we might. We're still doing a whole lot better than we'd do under any reasonable alternative, and right now Duke and Kentucky are miles ahead of whoever is in third place. All this is probably a major reason that Billy Donovan is preparing to bolt Gainesville for OKC.

Transferring Seton Hall point guard Sterling Gibbs is expected to visit Pittsburgh on Tuesday and Ohio State on Thursday, sources confirmed to SNY.tv.

Matt Steinbrink of the Pittsburgh Rivals site first reported the Pitt visit and Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com reported the Ohio State visit.

The 6-foot-2 Gibbs has yet to finalize a list of potential destinations.

Gibbs was a second-team all-Big East selection this past season, averaging 16.3 points and 3.8 assists a game. He is ranked the No. 1 transfer on ESPN’s transfer list. He will be immediately eligible wherever he lands.

Ashton Gibbs, Sterling’s older brother, played for Pitt from 2008-12, and Pitt assistant Brandin Knight attended Seton Hall Prep, the same high school the Gibbs brothers attended.

Also Sunday, T.J. Gibbs, the youngest of the Gibbs brothers, committed to Notre Dame in the Class of 2016.

Gibbs would fit in nicely with regard to our scholarships being a graduate transfer. He played his freshman year at Texas. Average around 15 points per game last season and was suspended for 2 games for giving some guy a elbow. Must be a feisty player.
