Just wonderin': Why isn't Ohio high schools producing more 5 star basketball recruits, (i.e. bad coaching, best athletics play another sport, or other reason, etc.)? Besides LeBron going directly to the NBA, where have all 5 star players the like Jerry Lucas, Clark Kellogg, and Jimmy Jackson gone? Heck, I remember when Michael Redd was a high school senior (1997) he was actually ranked as the 3rd best basketball player (#1 Kenny Gregory went to Kansas and #2 Estevan Weaver forgot to graduate HS) in Columbus, Ohio. To some extent some of the problems Ohio State has in recruiting is the lack of instate talent. The Buckeyes really haven't cracked the ceiling and became a perennial national recruiter of top talent like Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Kansas, and (maybe) UCLA, etc. have.
