OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

I can see Purdue & MSU aabove OSU (a lot more "elite" talent if you buy their rankings). However there's no way IU should be.

Top 100 recruits: OSU (#10, 62, 70, 80, #94), PUR (#22, 32, 43, 53), MSU (#19, 29, 30), IU (#2, #82, 92)

I guess I would just take our recruiting class against MSU or Purdue any day. I guess I don't have much respect for the Scott ranking:biggrin:

I think the reason that IU is rated high is all b/c of Gordan...
I suppose... but play a pickup game with our two recruiting classes. Who wins?

Their ranking reminds me of a Miami recruiting class a few years back, they were highly rated, but didn't have a single QB, RB, or WR (IIRC).

Yeah I agree, but basketball is a little different in terms of ranking classes, b/c a top guy like Gordan can take a mediocre team and turn into a very good team, much like a Oden, Durant, Melo, etc.

Honestly I havent really taken time to look at all the other players that the teams have coming in, just going off the top of my head...

Man for Man I would take our class, to go along with what we have coming back any day of the week...

Diebler will be a stud in time, but I think Turner is the sleeper this class. He is coming in w/ an attitude, having to play 2nd fiddle to Rose in Chicago, and will be ready to contribute on D from day one. Does anyone know what his shot is like-smooth,flat, good looking?

I have had this same feeling for awhile about him...

I think Turner is probably more ready for the college game physically than Diebler at this point in time and probably for next season. He is also more gifted athletically than probably can play 3 positions where Diebler can probably only played two (2 and 3). However, in the long run, I can see Diebler becoming a more valuable asset to the program just because of his shooting ability and the fact that he will be here for all four years.
Saying that, my surprise player for next year is Madsen:)

If your surprise player is Madsen

You may be surprised to see him behind Terwilliger. No offense to the kid he will make a great practice player and an extra big body. But production simply is not going to happen.

Let me state that this is strictly an opinion based on my two eyes. I think he will be behind Koufus, Hunter, and Twig and he and Lauderdale will be fighting for minutes. If Oden comes back, Lauderdale may red-shirt and He is still the fifth big.
