Men's Hockey
Buckeyes Looking For That Winning Feeling
By Craig Merz

It is still early to call this weekend?s games critical for Ohio State but avoiding the same rough stretch that doomed the Buckeyes last season is a paramount when Michigan State visits Value City Arena Friday and Saturday.
OSU (2-5-1, 1-4-1-1 CCHA) is in the midst of a rugged schedule that would test any team, much less one with 22 freshmen and sophomores. Athletes say winning is contagious but there hasn?t been much of that in Columbus in recent years.
That?s why the Buckeyes are looking to get back on track after losing twice at Michigan last weekend. The first game showed glimpses of what the Buckeyes can do when everyone is working together and mistakes are kept to a minimum.
The Buckeyes rallied from a 3-1 deficit only to lose on a late goal. The next night was no contest as the No. 8 Wolverines rolled to a 6-1 victory.
?We?ve played five games on the road against probably top-five clubs and we?ve played pretty well in three of those,? coach John Markell said.
?We have to continue working forward and forget that Saturday night game and hope that doesn?t present itself again? It?s never a good feeling losing 6-1.?

A sweep over Michigan State is excellent even if the games were here. Splits with Denver and scuM and a sweep over MSU starts the season out on a excellent note. Just hope that they continue to improve as the season progresses because in past seasons it seems like they have gone backwards instead of forwards (no pun:biggrin2: intended). Thanks for on the updates!
