It has nothing to do with e!spn loving Oregon. tOSU is a long standing national power, one of the Top-5 programs in the country. Oregon is a relative newcomer to the national scene. Yes, they played for a NC last year, but it's still not known what their staying power is. They don't have nearly the national interest level Ohio State, or Texas, or USC does.k2onprimetime;1947764; said:This wont get the Media coverage we got, bspn Loves Oregon. New details have emerged in the scandal involving Oregon football and talent evaluator Willie Lyles and if what Lyles has said is true, it doesn?t look good for the Ducks.

The Oregonian?s continuing coverage of Willie Lyles and the Oregon Ducks
In a multiday interview with Yahoo! Sports, Lyles described in detail his relationship with the Oregon football program, specifically his relationship with coach Chip Kelly and Oregon players LaMichael James and Lache Seastrunk, both of whom are from Texas and have close personal ties to Lyles.
Oregon is the subject of a preliminary NCAA investigation after an original Yahoo report on March 3 alleged that the Ducks had paid Lyles and his recruiting business, Complete Scouting Services, $25,000 for a national recruiting package. The story also alleged that Lyles may have steered James, Seastrunk and former Oregon running back Dontae Williams (who left the team in the spring) to Eugene, which would be an NCAA violation.
Lyles told Yahoo that he now believes Oregon paid $25,000 for ?my access and influence with recruits.?
?The service I provided went beyond what a scouting service should ?,? Lyles told Yahoo. ?I made a mistake and I?m big enough of a man to admit I was wrong.?
While recruiting services are commonly used in college football, the payment of $25,000 seemed high. Lyles also did work for LSU and Cal, though neither school paid him that high an amount for the services they purchased.
After multiple public records requests were made by The Oregonian and other media outlets, Oregon on June 20 released hundreds of pages of documents that detailed the what Oregon received for $25,000. The documents were out of date, with the national recruiting package highlighting prospects from the class of 2009 who were already in college. A day later, Oregon released more documents, which they said had been overlooked, that had more up-to-date information.
Together, the two batches of documents included information on prospects in just six states. It is not known how much video Lyles provided Oregon -- his invoice promised video from 22 states -- because Oregon officials said that they couldn't retrieve it.

Uh huh...
There's not enough money in the world to pay off yahoo, e!spn, sports illustrated, etc...if there's a story there, somebody will get it out. Whether it's a sloppy mess like the dohrrman hatchet job, or well researched like yahoo's typical work, the public tends to take bad press as gospel. Texas better hope they're squeaky clean, or somebody will put something out just for the page views, and they'll get raked over the coals just like tOSU. I think most of America views texas as a pretty clean program, so if somebody can knock them down a few pegs, they will.AuTX Buckeye;1947787; said:Per the Local sports radio (ESPiN) according to several people interviewed including a guy who works for the Houston Chronicle (Lance Zierlein) who's talked to people in the know... UT has nothing to worry about... i find that hard to believe but then again... there's alot of money and power flowing around things get swept under and out to view quickly.... Notice we haven't heard anything about the Mrs McCoy statement about "offers for benefits" except that one day...

I agree, but the same can be said of tOSU, and unless they have alumni as the final word at all the major companies, they aren't going to squash it. If a major story like recruiting malfeasence at a program as big as Texas is out there, all of them aren't going to sweep it under the rug. Somebody will run with it, and then the others will be forced to jump on the story as well. I don't even know for sure if Texas is the other program, but there is a lot of chatter on message boards and the blogosphere.AuTX Buckeye;1947789; said:It doesn't take money when some of the higher ups in the companies are Alumni. I don't know anything.. I'm just saying UT is a large school with alot of alumni... its not out of the realm of possibility.

There is also the whole rumor that the big bombshell that a story will break in August that is a 10/10 to tOSU's 8/10...I don't know if that's Texas, Auburn, or somebody else, but a lot of credible people were talking about it.
