Oregon Ducks (aka U of Nike)

I like reading other fanbases' message boards to see the crying. I found some crying by the Oregon fans, but nothing like Tennessee or Penn State or Indiana. From what I've seen, they appear to be a pretty classy fanbase.
Congrats to them on a great season. I'm glad the good guys won, but Oregon has gone up some notches, to me.
Yeah, I frequent one of their boards and aside from one or two posters I've always had good conversation with them. They aren't delusional like the pedsters or scUM and are pretty knowledgeable about the game. I've received some good natured shit talk ( as it should be) but overall their fans seem pretty good.

I think we sometimes let ourselves get trolled by the loudmouth idiots of opposing team fan bases, ignoring that we have some of our own supporting Ohio State.

As an example, I saw a long video by a Tennessee fan, who recorded his day in Columbus as a once in a lifetime event, calling it something that had been on his bucket list for years. He walked the campus area, talking about how the campus stadium were beautiful. He looked at things like Mirror Lake with reverence, knowing that it was important to Buckeye fans even if he didn't understand it. He mentioned that some SEC venues were louder, but noted with reverence the stunning beauty of the North Rotunda and the stadium atmosphere. He repeatedly noted how people seeing his UT shirt would ask if he was in Columbus for the game and then welcome him and his friends to Columbus, repeatedly saying that nobody was trash talking him.

I have been to the Oregon campus twice for conference/lectures and, more distantly in time, to Portland when it was among the most beautiful American cities. I never had anyone there speak trash to me and one brought me an Ohio State football tee-shirt when he visited South Africa.

I was going to say, this sounds a lot like when the Pedsters try and act like sophisticated costal elites.
It may be some of that, but living in Willamette Valley, I’ve had so many convos and friendships to this day that I will say that most Oregonians are very balanced on their perspectives. They hope as all hell, but not typically, spouting comparative bullshit like what’s in that post.
There’s really not much to talk about a society that lives in an area that has “beware of pedestrians” signs on fkn I-5 because drug usage and lack of mental health care has led to such immense homelessness.
I was never a fan of Eugene, personally, but found the positives when/where I could.
Anyway, to sum: these sorts of blowhards are dumb as shit or have no understanding of reality.
