Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

It really does depend on how vicious the particular flu is. If it's a particularly nasty one, then getting over the full-tilt flu is one thing. Having your body fully recover once you're back up and walking around is another. Maybe most people could manage to go to work after 4 days, but most people's work doesn't entail strapping on heavy equipment, then running, leaping and throwing while dodging 300-lb. mountains of flesh.

This Bowl prep is not going well. It could be significant or mean nothing to the over-all game. Kids tend to bounce back quickly and I'm sure guys will get top treatment there. Kenny G. could sub for Brax if needed.
But, who really knows?

First, I want Braxton to be healthy and start. Fortunately we have a very capable backup in Guiton. The positive is this could force the play calling to depend more on Carlos. Behind our line he could have a huge day against their defense, while allowing us to keep their offense on the sideline.

I know the strain they have detected in Texas is the H1N1 -2009 variant. It is a strain contained in the flu vaccine this year.

I got my flu vaccine to reduce the odds that my expensive Christmas vacation plans were not forfeited. It would be hard for me to believe that the football team could have so much of their life work at stake but not receive vaccines.

Was wondering if there is a team policy about vaccines being mandatory. But, it's possible what they're catching is a strain that wasn't included in the vaccine soup, maybe a recent variation.
