Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

The flu ran rampant in our house last week, and this years version was not the typical 24-HR stint. It lingered for 3+ days (with our young'ins). Hope the staff/players get the short version and get better soon.

I'm purely speculating, but I assume the Roby hold-off is purely to keep him as healthy as possible up to when the lights come on Friday nightm(captain obvious is here, I know). I think he starts the game and plays until he can't. He doesn't need the practice at this point. Not sure what Grant's situation is.

Reeves has received some abuse this season, and it is deserved, but I think we forget how young and inexperienced he is. He's missed assignments in zone coverage that have cost the defense some headaches. However, he deserves a lot more opportunities. Burrows time will come. Reeves needs reps, reps, reps. If he does play, this game will be a huge learning experience for him. Hopefully not at the cost of the game, but you've got to let the kids have a chance to learn and grow. I'm hopeful Reeves has learned from his mistakes this season and can stand the post.

I'm pretty sure this is Reeves' 3rd year at Ohio State. To some extent everyone on the team could be considered young and there's always a chance they could make that leap and step up... but... yea...
It seems like a number of personnel decisions this year have been determined by seniority rather than results, particularly in the secondary.

edit: nm, he's a true Soph -- for some reason I thought he had a RS. I stand corrected

He's a true sophomore. He was part of Urban's first class.
