Meyer is a Hollywood producer, he is going to have all the guys who have given him commitments that aren't public yet "decide" on NLOID so as to avoid any comments of "Meyer can't close" and to maintain momentum into the next class. Dodson is on board he is just going to be apart of the pageantry of NLOID that Meyer is attempting to orchestrate. It makes for better press.

Hope the young man's shoulder is healing well. Even if he is to redshirt next year because of the injury, it would still be nice for him to gain the experience of practicing with the team.

I know that it looks good that Dodson made an unofficial visit to Ohio State just days before Signing Day, but let's remember that this is the kid who was pushing hard for an Ohio State offer, and then the very day that he received it, he committed to Wisconsin:

Talks about the conference call he had with the OSU staff...plans to decide in the next couple of days...says he called JT after his resignation just to show his support to the man.

I know the parents of his former position coach at CH. The comment made to me was, he grew up an OSU fan but wanted no part of the mess going in Columbus when he committed. His mind was already made up when the offer showed up. There was no one upsmanship, or game playing involved.

Can you elaborate about this injury? I knew Davidson had an injury, but never heard about Dodson's shoulder. His scout page says there is no injury news items for display. Are you confusing Davidson's knee with Dodson's shoulder?

Dodson was viewed as a raw talent with a high ceiling and recently had shoulder surgery, so is sure to redshirt this fall.

I am certainly not an expert on NCAA rules, but for the sake of the athlete, if there is a medical issue that affects him, I think he should have another year. Medical year not redshirt year. All players, all teams. The athletes deserve a break.

Actually, since he has five-to-play-four, he's still good. Plus he can apply for a medical redshirt after five years (if he meets certain criteria) to get a sixth year.
