Another update by Greg Powers...great profile of Shugarts style of play. Again, his top 6 are Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Michigan, but Alabama has offered and is trying to get in the mix. Talks a little bit about the Block O phenomenon.

"Fab Five" huh?

Trying to muscle in on the phenomenon. :wink2:

Notes from Rivals Junior Day in Houston...J.B. has already narrowed his list and he is down to Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Florida. A decision could come before his senior season.

Yeah, it looks like JB saw the 4 OL kids Texas took last year (not counting Nader since he won't be playing football) and the 2 who have already committed for 2008 and decided to look elsewhere. Plus with already 6 OL prospects in 2 years, I don't Texas would be wanting to take any other members of the 'Block O'.

No, they wanted J.B. bad but J.B. has been pretty set on leaving the state. Plus it looks like he is looking to get back to the midwest as of right now, and not scUM  .

Apparently, Mack Brown's take it or leave it approach to recruiting also played into J.B. decision to drop Texas from consideration...

I almost wish that we would do this some with instate kids...I know LJB hinted at it yesterday, but that is a whole nother topic for debate...

As for JB, I just have never had a good feeling about him, and unless his father gets a transfer or they plan on moving to the midwest I find it hard for a kid from Texas to move that far away from home...Not saying it can't happen...

Oklahoma obviously poses the biggest threat right now...

I'm at work and just got a email from a friend that said he read his father will be coaching at the Michigan camp?

Wondering if there is any validity to that? Also, not sure if this is premium so I apologize beforehand if so.

True...

It is much like he did at the AA combine...He is a coach so they bring him in and he works with the kids...I don't think it will effect J.B.'s decision making process tho...

As for threat I agree with Wade...

He will be at the Michigan camp, and also Shugarts is friends with Ryan Mallet and Mark Ortmann, so obviously Michigan will be in the hunt. But the info the BPRT has been given is that if J.B. heads to b10 country, if will be for Columbus.

Long update about J.B. recruitment so far, as well as McGuffie's. J.B. is considering graduating early. The article also states that McGuffie is looking at a lot of the same schools as J.B., including Oklahoma, Michigan, Florida and Ohio State.
