OL Connor Smith (official thread)

Scout $

Connor talks about growing up a Buckeye fan. The Buckeyes are high on his list, but he does not have a favorite right now. His father, although a Buckeye, is staying out of the recruiting process and will support any decision Connor makes. He is not sure where he will camp besides Colerain's team camp at Michigan, but he does say he will probably attend tOSU's camp. Connor plans to make a decision by August so he can concentrate on winning another state championship. He does not plan on graduating early, but does not rule it out.

This is the best I could do. I believe Connor is #77 in the back....

Because scUM will offer him when Colerain goes to camp at scUM this summer. that is when scUM offered Mister Simpson last year...and the year that BJ Askew came out of Colerain, he was offered at the camp. Maybe scUM is just more comfortable making their official offers to Colerain players when they have them on campus?

...also, do not be surprised if you hear rumors about Connor and So. Cal. The Trojans have expressed some interest in him within the last two weeks.

Happy Easter everyone. I received some news on Conner today from my cousin David Mcclain. David is the long snapper for Miami, Oh. and graduated from Colerain a few years back. David told me that for some strange reason Conner really is in love with scUM. He said that Coach Combs and Lllyod are good friends and unfortunatly he tries to steer alot of players to TSUN. David also said that Conner is a beast and look for Colerain to repeat because the school is stocked with a ton of talent. Take it for what its worth, hopefully we can grab Conner, Boren and Brown. I'll talk to Dave in a few weeks and see if anything has changed.

But based on his update, the :) is hardly appropriate.
Sorry I do alot of in-between-the-lines posting. The :) was not intended towards the update itself, as it is far from positive news, rather I :) because I was poking fun at those who choose not to reveal their sources. I was making light of the situation at hand, I tend to do that when bad news comes, it makes it easier to bear.

However I'm sticking with Nevada on this one. Well, at least from his last update on CS. It's been a while, Nevada have you spoken with Connor or the Smith family lately? You've reassured everyone about Boren and Brown, but haven't touched up on Smith lately. Is spraguezilla's info more up to date or?

I find this to be an interesting post...Conor's family never told me any such thing and his current teammates say that Connor is not overly impressed with scUM...your source is correct about coach Carr and coach Coombs being friendly...but Coombs does not steer his kids any particular way. BJ Askew went to scUM because scUM was the only Big 10 team to offer him and they did it early...Simpson went to scUM because scUM was the ONLY big name school to offer him early...Jefferson Kelly went to TOSU because he was 'an Ohio boy', but he was offered by scUM, too.
Tressel and Coombs get along wonderfully...but I wouldn't say that Coombs steers his kids to scUM...lets face it...Connor is the first Colerain kid that Tressel has offered since he has been in Columbus...so lets not be quick to say that Coombs only points kids to tsun.
