OL Connor Smith (official thread)

As a Colerain grad/fan this is really great news! Conner's dad is former Buckeye, Joe Smith.

I hope some of you guys got to see Conner in the state title game against McKinley this year because he put on a show.

I understand this... maybe I didn't phrase my question correctly... ok no I didn't. Does the kid play OG or OT right now? What does he want to play? To people who have seen him do you think he projects as an OT or an OG?

I'm having a hard time figuring it out, myself as I'm just basing it off of his measurables. He's either a decent sized OT or a large OG...

I have watched Connor for the last two years. Colerain runs a true tripple option (freeze option) and Connor moves around on the line a lot. He plays both OG and OT...I see him as a Tackle. He is extremley quick and has very good feet...Again, if you saw the D1 state title game you would have seen Connor 20 yards down field destroying LB's and Safties in that game. Connor also plays basketball at Colerain...He has plenty of room to put on another 25-30 and still maintain his natural athletic ability.
My sources inside the Colerain say Connor is currently leaning towards scUM at the moment but that it is too early to call.

Hope some of this helps.

speaking as a father, if i played for Bruce and my son was leaning toward scum, i think a good back hand up side the old gourd would be in order. can not even imagine that, i would be devastated if i ever heard those words come out of my son's mouth. by the way i was at the title game, i'm not sure i was watching conner in particular, but the entire offensive front dominated mckinley.

I like Conner alot. I've seen him a few times and he's never been overmatched. Very quick feet and is used to a system of pulling and secondary blocks. Colerain is a school that needs alot of attention from Tressel and it has to happen now. My only concern is his pass block skills but he's an RT or RG all the way.
