OL Coach Tyler Bowen (Official Thread)

Solid, yes. Pulled everyone together under incredible adversity and blew through the playoffs, no question. Is Bowen still a massive upgrade on-field and in recruiting? So far, yes.
He’s clearly much more effective as a recruiter. As a coach, he also has more help. With coach limits gone, don’t we now have a couple of other guys helping out with the OL? It also seems like Day has generally prioritized OL (and general) depth and versatility a lot more over the last year or so.

Not taking anything away from the truthiness you typed… but the fact that there are multiple highly-qualified OL coaches to develop this group also has to be considered. I love that model. I’ll be surprised if more teams don’t adopt it.

Ohio State football program flips much-anticipated offensive line recruit

Tyler Bowen has done some serious work in his first year on staff with the Buckeyes.

No assistant coaches have been able to bring in more recruits for the Ohio State football team this year than Tyler Bowen. Bowen has done a good job of getting on the recruiting trail and adding some much-needed depth up front, even if some of the players aren't the highest-rated recruits.

Before Monday, the Ohio State Buckeyes had four offensive line recruits for the 2026 recruiting class. That's out of a total of 20 commits for the class. After some years of poor depth under Greg Studrawa, the Buckeyes have been fighting an uphill battle to fix that....

Bowen has been trying to flip some recruits late in the recruiting cycle so they can add a fifth offensive lineman in this class. For a while, they have been targeting Landry Brede, a three-star offensive lineman from Mentor, Ohio. He has now officially flipped his recruitment.

Just sayin': Bowen is definitely an upgrade over Studrawa.....:boogie:
