Ohio University to play Ohio State in 2008

Calm down ORD. LV and I just made a couple posts about some excellent departments at OU. I don't think either of us tried to compare the two schools.

Feel free to remain on your soapbox though:wink2:

just to compare apples to apples....and add fuel to the fire....

Since ORD asked about the business school in his previous post....businessweek ranked OU's undergrad business school #62 and tOSU #41. Not much of a difference. I don't think there is that much difference between an undergrad degree from OU or OSU.

[rant]
Look, I went to OU. I could have gone to Miami, OSU, etc. I went to OU because I liked being in the country and I wanted to be further away from home (Miami is like 35 minutes away from where I live). I have no delusions about OU sports as compared to OSU or the schools in general. Feel free to pile on the ones that do. [/end rant]

ok, i feel better. please continue bashing OU

It has nothing to do with size and everything to do with quality.

By your logic, OU would have half the numbers of National Academy members on faculty. THey don't; they have none. They would do half the research that Ohio STate does. They don't; they do less than one-tenth. They'd enroll half the number of National Merit Scholars. They don't; they enroll just over a tenth. They'd enroll half the number of students with a 30+ on their ACT. They don't; they enroll one-eighth the number. (and actually their freshman classes are about 2/3 the size of ours, which makes those numbers even worse).

I could go on and on. Undergraduate, graduate, research, faculty: they are not our peer, and it has nothing to do with size!

In what ranking? Reference please. USN&WR has Ohio State ranked 12th, and OU unranked.

ORD will not rest until you admit the superiority of Ohio's flagship university over the smaller state schools.

:p

And don't even think about trying to create a homemade bomb to get rid of him. You'll just blow yourself up.

i forgot to post linky

Undergrad B-School Rankings: Interactive Table

I know it is hard to beleive that OU could be on any kind of national list. I didn't mean to ruin your day.

(i assume ORD's next post will disparage the validity of Businessweek's criteria)

Back on topic:

I predict that OSU will win the game next year. Prolly 52-0. We will definitely get to see Henton take some snaps at QB as well as Boom Herron getting a few carries.

It will only be about 17-0 at the half though.

I won't disparage BusinessWeek's ranking. Not sure why we rank lower in that survey than in every other b-school ranking out there, but BW is a reputable publication and should be taken seriously.

Congratulations, you've dug through the haystack of university, college and department rankings and found the one needle where OU comes within 21 points of Ohio State. That, in and of itself, kind of proves my point.

We don't want those nerdy types that score that high on the ACT anyway. They tend to ruin our parties....and they also stay home during the riots.

It wasn't that hard to find, the link was on the main page of OU's business school:biggrin:
