Shumate 4th.
Feldman 6th. MFF out.
The CK was definitely a great measuring stick of expectations. We're not going to compete for the title, so focus on individual performances until next year and enjoy them.Hopefully, the Vegas tournament is a window into the Nationals....Buckeyes showed well, but still room to improve, am thinking. Certainly gives Ryan teaching directions. Does tOSU have (how many?) assistants to work with the various weight classes? Not knowledgeable enough, for certain, but know it's just not Ryan running from mat to mat on practices, dispensing wisdom and work-ons.
I've been critical of Ryan at times in terms of development once he recruits top guys, but he really is the best coach for our program. At the big tourneys it is tough because you have multiple matches going on, whereas in a dual setting you just stay put and coach each wrestler.Sounds like Ryan utililizes asst coaches as one is supposed to. Also sounds like he is knowledgeable on 'what to do' for each wrestler in a match. Do see him being very verbal and engaged during matches. Thanks for the info, RB.
Really depends on the year, I don't think there is a pattern. In our title year, we were strong from top to bottom. Same goes for when we took runner up in Cleveland. Lately 125 has been an issue, as has for 157. I can't tell you why but my guess is guess just didn't pan out or got injured (like Paddy at 157 with injuries). McCrone is actually exceeding expectations but it seems like we just haven't landed a top notch 125lb guy in awhile.Certainly the least qualified poster on this page, kudos to you guys in above posts, but hasn't the singlet guys always been strongest in the middle to heavier weights? And thereby weakest in the lighter weights? Looks like a reversal above. Not complaining, mind you, but a question. How do they determine what weights to lead off with? Would think that they'd go from lightest to heaviest, but sometimes go middle-up-down or ? Just a query for a football Saturday. go Bucks!
