Why would they have to cap rosters at 30 even if they limit scholarships to 30? Seems like a lot of kids would get left by the wayside
I missed all of this, that is an absolutely atrocious and unnecessary decision. If a kid wants to wrestle, whether on partial scholarship or as a walk-on, the NCAA has no business telling schools what their roster size can be. This decision hurts the wrestlers that want to compete.

Oh so true. Amateur athletics (there's a phrase that's outta date!), are for kids to enjoy competing in athletics at a higher level. Guess it's called something like a 'rounded education' or somesuch. Not too many folk I knew in undergrad spent all their time in the library. Actually believe more spent time uptown at bars than the library. Basically, the limitation on scholarships causes a splitting of scholarships into pieces. Which means that more athletes can get some money (pre-NIL). A quarter scholarship is worth something, but gives an athlete the feeling he/she belongs.?. Daughter received a quarter schollie offer for water polo, and was very excited about it, but chose to swim at a NAIA school (no athletic scholarships). As always, hats off to tOSU, which fields what? 36 athletic teams? Huge, and allows many, many more students to continue those sports that they love. Another reason for B10/SEC to tell the NCAA to shove it, and do their own thing.

Hey, any updates on Blaze (#3417-3418)? Has he committed yet? Thanks in advance. Go Bucks!
No commitment, but he was busy winning a bronze medal at the U20s recently. That is an absurdly great accomplishment as a kid in HS. Seems like his camp is very tight lipped on his recruitment, so nobody seems to know if it will be OSU or PSU (or Purdue in a huge upset due to his brother, but I don't think that happens). Both Ryan and Sanderson are in a full-blown battle here, both sides are dumping every resource into getting this kid. I really don't know how it will wind up and nobody seems to.

Read a report on another site that 3 big time wrestlers from the 2026 class recently visited Ohio State. Dom Munaretto from Illinois, the #1 rated U17 in his weight class from Illinois who comes from the same area as freshman Ben Davino and is a 113#er. Also visiting was Michael Mocco
from Parkland, Florida who won the U17 Worlds this year and will probably wrestle in college at a middle weight. And the third to visit was Deshaun Ross from Iowa who from the tape I saw will probably be a top weight and is very quick for his size. These three are the cream of the
crop for the class potentially and of course all the 'big guns' will be after them but at least the Bucks got a visit .

Blaze just beat two NCAA champions and a world medalist in World Trials. Will wrestle Vito in the finals in a best of 3 round. Beat Seth Gross, Nashon Garrett, and Daton Fix. Legit unreal he's in HS.

Update: Blaze lost to Vito in two very close matches. To go toe to toe with Vito, an international wrestling freak, is still unreal. What a showing for Blaze.

Sasso is a go for this year and apparently bumping up to 165, not surprised he's moving up a couple weights with all the rehab he needed and the weight gain I'm sure had to happen with that. I hope he is back to full health and makes the weight adjustment. It is going to be an emotional moment for everyone when he steps back on the mat for his first live match this year, I know I'm going to have tissues prepared for when that happens.

Back in early September Calibuck asked for news on Marcus Blaze's recruiting. Rumors on the internet are that his decision
will be announced by next week. Like RB07OSU stated a few comments above, looking like PSU or OSU. May be clutching at straws here,
but Blaze was visited earlier this week by both Coach Jagger and Coach Steiber which hopefully sealed the deal.

I've never been so on the edge of my seat for a wrestling commitment. I really have no clue which way he'll go, but word is that OSU would take his brother on as a transfer if he did commit...but PSU may offer the same thing. Marcus and his brother sound pretty close, but I don't think that will be a determining factor in any event. He will pick the place he thinks will get him to his ultimate goals. I hope that is in Columbus.
