141 #2 H. Stieber vs. NR Pearsall: Need another big set of bonus points here and again, I think we get it. Hunter needs to be more active than he was against *ichigan though.

149 #19 Tessari/NR Paddock vs. #7 A. Alton: Really hope we have Tessari back, as I like him matching up again Alton better here. Doubt we give up bonus points (again, we cannot) and I really think Cam can win it. However, I'll have to say Alton wins by decision

OSU 10-PSU 6

157 #19 Demas vs. #5 D. Alton: Demas has a ton of skill and has a tendency to surprise you, but Alton is too good to overcome. I see a major decision for Alton.

OSU 10-PSU 10

165 NR Martin vs. #2 Taylor: This match is going to be a bloodbath. Taylor gets the tech fall.

PSU 15-OSU 10

174 #7 Heflin vs. #5 Brown: I like Heflin in a slight upset here with a decision. Heflin has been wrestling really smart lately.

PSU 15-OSU 13

184 #16 Courts/NR Magrum vs. #1 Ruth: Not sure who wrestles here (couldn't find if Camp will be back at 197) but I see a major decision either way. As good as Courts and Magrum are wrestling, Ruth is simply an animal.

PSU 19-OSU 13

197 #16 Courts/#13 Campolatanno vs. #3 Wright: Wright has been on fire this year with an undefeated record and just pinned the #2 wrestler in the country. However, he does have a tendency to go close in matches aside from that. I think Courts keeps it to a decision and gives him a match.

PSU 22-OSU 13

Hwt #12 Capone vs. #19 Gingrich: I like Capone here in a close decision. Capone has been wrestling pretty tough as of late.

Final score: PSU 22-OSU 16

- If we can keep it that close, it will be respectable. However, this could really get out of hand if Triggas, Demas, and Tessari give up bonus points and Heflin loses. We need upsets at 149 and 157, bonus points, and wins at every weight we are favored to conceivably pull of the upset. Probably not our year to knock them off though, they are just too talented from top to bottom.

I think regardless 149 and 157 are total toss ups, even if Paddock is in. Both Altons have extremely bad gas tanks. Taking them into the 3rd can yield results. I also worry about giving up 6 regardless of who is at 184. Ruth is a devastating finisher.

Perhaps for 149 because Paddock is a workhorse and I think really underrated, tons of skill. But I don't see a win at 157. And 6 could happen at 184, I just figured Courts is talented enough and Magrum is heady enough as a senior to stay off their back (whoever wrestles there) and prevent big bonuses. A lot of guys have been able to do that with Ruth this year.

Well normally Capone would have won that match, so it would have been 23-21. Great win for Tessari, Demas wrestled a great match, and the Stiebers did what they needed to. Throw out the injury default and really what lost it was Triggas and Courts giving up bonus points with the major decisions and Magrum getting pinned by Ruth. They were matches that needed to be closer.
