Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Girls are up 30-12 second quarter but it's not even on the radio. So many excuses for channels out there and we can't even watch a ranked Buckeyes play in the Daytona Beach Classic.

Appears playing great Defense but not shooting that well so far

Girls up 22-13 after 1. 2nd Quarter is where they usually open it up so we'll see how they are doing on less rest in this tournament. Multiple games is when the Lady Bucks often find some adversity with their style of play, at least under McGuff.

Gotcha Bestbuck. Bodybag games over, all the chips on the table. Mix and match should be done, and the best team on the floor. Women still don't have Cotie at full go, and performing very well. Saw a game, Belmont I believe. Walked in hour before gametime, and hit the trifecta. While at ticket window, asked what's available, and lo and behold, 3 opened up at midcourt (Section 104), right behind scores table, with my left elbow on the midcourt line. Best seats ever had at any event I wasn't officiating. Two freshwomen hit for 25, Lemmish (sp?) was active and productive, and Taylor T did her usual 'fill in wherever needed' dance. High hopes for the Lady Bucks. Oh year, Ajah (sp?) looked lost out there, but when they played south, she lit it up for big double double. Just shook my head, as didn't see that coming. Was also impressed that Katie was coaching up the players (bigs) during TO's. Jacy was just smiling and smoozing with players etc all the time. Watch out for the drinks though. Hit you up for $5 for the fluid, and $11 for the 'souvenir cup'. At least the servers had the decency to admit seemed a bit excessive. Go Bucks!

Sloppy in the 4th and Illinois has come back some. Ladies still up 63-52 with 7:42 to go. We've given up quite a few fast break opportunities in this half, some questionable imo with whistles/no whistles but here we are.

Cotie has not skipped a beat. Her usual badass self.

Up 9 with 2:43 left. Lost the momentum and discipline.

Maddie Greene's first FG of the game just kills their run. 77-65 now after Maddie steals the ball on their next possession. Lady Bucks seemed to have felt the momentum switch and just twisted the knife for a quick run to pull back away again.

Tension averted. 81-67 with 35 seconds left. Ladies going to a crisp 8-0.

Cotie 9-12 from the line warmed my heart. Hope it can become a thing. Need more rebounding and inside physicality to be truly elite I think, but they've got athletes, shooters, a more diversified, mature, and, I think, better conditioned Cotie, and more interior defense, at least on initial shots, than they've had. Lemilla was really good defensively, and not bad offensively, today. Very nice win with Cambridge off a bit with the step up in competition and then in foul trouble the entire game. Gray was huge in the first half. While I don't think McGuff's great at adjustments, I wish Day had his commitment to a style of play that fosters a team identity and then recruited to that style. I really enjoy watching this team play.
