Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Everyone knows about Clark's shooting but her passing is just as good. Press is virtually useless as she just passes over it.

Same with getting it in to Czinano, who is 22/25 shooting in two games vs OSU. Just one layup after another.

Bucks set three B1G records this weekend:

Largest tournament comeback win
Most points allowed in a title game
Biggest margin of defeat in a title game.

Now to prep for the big dance.
Likely another early exit, this team can't shoot (exception Mikesell, mid-range Thierry & Cotie) or finish at the rim (exception Cotie, Thierry). Harris's moon shots are just awful.
If they can force the TO's AND TURN them into points, they can win a couple.

Thought the Buckeyes were playing Notre Dame, the way the leprechaun was swatting tOSU shots away from the rim. Or the Hawkeye I guess. Caitlin Clark was as advertised, if not better. Thoroughly dominated whomever the Buckeyes put on her, as Thierry, Cotie, Jacy and Shumate all tried their hand at holding her in check. Triple double tells the tale of how well that worked. Her assists were crisp and on-target. Fronting their big worked for a while, but CC's lobs were perfect. The Buckeyes started out hot, but Iowa clamped down on Mikesell, and Harris couldn't find the bottom of the net at all. Mikaslauvoka (sp) went 0 for the night, and Thierry got pounded and pushed around under the basket, so she didn't get her usual alotment of rebounds. Given a 30+ loss, cannot say the refs caused it, but it seemed to me that Iowa got away with many, many infractions that were called against the Buckeyes. As skinny as she was, CC was all over Cotie, to the point where McMahon responded by hooking her with an elbow, and CC stepped backwards and then flopped - and the ref called a technical on Cotie. PS, I've ranted about the announcers filling the air with 'tidbits' and not announcing the play (such as who got the foul), but four minutes into the game, they apparently decided Iowa was going to win it, and 80% of their sound bytes were Iowa flavored. Congrats Ladies, now let's see you make a deep run in the dance. Not certain there's a chance (or a big one) that the Final Four will be all B10, but am betting on at least two of the finalists are ours. Go Bucks!

Women got kinda hosed in the final AP poll before the tournamnet. Moved up only 1 place in the Coaches and 2 in the AP. Looks like a 3 seed and projected in S Carolinas bracket for the Great 8. If you want to be The Man I guess

Have seen the 'projection' that tOSU gets a 4 seed. Hopefully they'll land in the Midwest Region, rather than travel West. Wherever they land, they'll play some good-to-great teams along the way. Hope Jacy's legs hold out, because she'll need more minutes for tOSU to survive. It's been a great viewing season, and has had its ups and downs. Let's pray that they end on the 'ups'. Still going with two B10 in final four, but they're going against some tall timber. Would like to see tOSU go against Uconn, and Dorkas.....with an tOSU win. Go Bucks!

Iowa +2000, Ohio State +3000 to win the national championship. Obvious which one I want but I bet on both a fiver to win an insurance payment.

I think S Carolina is going to get upset if a ref crew calls Boston for the fouls she should get.

Bucks will host their pod as a 3-seed and open versus James Madison on Saturday. If they win two they'll be off to Seattle. The rest of their pod is North Carolina taking on the winner of the Purdue/St. John's play-in game.

The 2-seed? UConn. That wouldn't be a fun Sweet 16 match up. Virginia Tech is the 1-seed while Tennessee is the four.

And they're Off - to the Sweet 16. Surprised at how physical the game was against NC. From the NC side of course. ACC elegance wasn't present, as NC brutalized the Buckeyes everywhere on the court. Wifey was livid about the pounding our bigs took under the hoop, and when anyone (Jacy and Cotie) drove inside. Got very worried when NC made their run, down 12, as their D hosed our O. Jacy was the last second (1.8 sec) hero as she floated one in. Saw the picture on 11W, and surprised there was so much room on the three NC defenders collapsing on her. Hey, what's wrong with Thierry? Did she get bonked against JMU? She doesn't look comfortable with that mask. And we missed her under the boards, even though the game stats said we out-rebounded NC. Still looking/hoping to go against UConn and Dorkas...who had a double double in the UConn game. Go Bucks!
