Game Thread Ohio State vs TCU (Arlington, TX) - 09/15/18, 8:00PM (ABC)

You are joking right?

The discussion before I got here was a repeat of "Ohio big, TCU small, run down middle".

If that passes for discussion I dont know what to say but ive proved it false and I saved this thread and started real conversation; not just repetition of myopic unlinked uninformed opinions, or want to be 6th grade english teachers.

The point I made, which is a fact, was the weight of the lines of both teams are about the same, any difference is negligible, which is a far cry from what this board thought before I arrived.

You are welcome.
Your constitution towards brisket is weak.

TCU of course being the school that invented the forward pass and has the award for best qb named after Davey O'Brien; basically, QBU so thats a positive for us.
Ohio State played against some really tough Michigan squads from 1900-1904... I think they gained some valuable experience in those games that will give them an advantage on Saturday.

Robinson was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas his senior year when he won the state title, we good.

I posted a link to support my claim, you didnt, you lose. Perhaps you should look up the definition of liar, or ask the resident 6th grade english teacher for an assist on this one.

I already posted the vast difference between their pass efficiencies this year, which is actually relevant.

You couldn't even count to my IQ, you pathetic little troll.

You keep acting like there are pages after pages of discussion on how teeny tiny TCU is. Here's reality:

1 post listing a smallish height and weight
2nd post discussing how a small front 7 doesn't pair well with a bigger OLine
The very next post saying 'hold up....VT was tiny and whooped us. pump the brakes'
A followup from the OP detailing that it's DL vs OL....which is what jwins is trying to beat into your head
Immediately followed by another 'pump the brakes' post
A few unrelated posts go by, then you sh'ow up
Another 'pump the brakes'
Finally, post #75 (as opposed to "the first 50 posts" that you claim), somebody lists height and weight for both teams' lines
You show back up 2 pages after that conversation was dead to cry about how your lines are bigger on both sides of the ball....which is in question (and which I truly don't give a shit enough about to look up)

So.....what actually got your panties tw'isted? Because it wasn't "discussion before (you) got here was a repeat of "Ohio big, TCU small, run down middle".

Both of TCU's lines are bigger, so whats to prevent TCU from running down the middle?
The 3 first rounders on the DL front and the entire LB group that weighs over 230.
Good stuff.

TCU hasnt allowed a sack this year, and as the other frog pointed out Robinson still hasnt thrown a pick in 3 stars and just set the record for most pass attempts to start a TCU career w/out an interception. TCU of course being the school that invented the forward pass and has the award for best qb named after Davey O'Brien; basically, QBU so thats a positive for us.
He threw a INT his last start chief

On the first question, that 2010 defense was salty and probably more technically sound that 2014. Lots of experience and we felt a drop-off in 2011 after losing key leadership. 2014 was way more athletic that 2010 in my mind and had ridiculous swagger. What they did to Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl was a thing of beauty (although some of the post-play antics started bordering on memories of the U, such as Pierson telling the RB to get off the field and various guys mocking the Ole Miss Land Shark signal):

I think this team is more athletic than the 2014 bunch across the board. Time will tell if they know GP's system well enough for him to open his playbook (a la 2010) or if they have that extra chip a la 2014.

As far as Robinson, his accuracy has not been great in 2 of 3 games (possibly both of which can be blamed on weather (gusting West Texas winds against Tech last year and rain against SMU this year). That certainly is some cause for concern, but he also broke Andy Dalton's school record for most passes to start a career before throwing a pick. It will be interesting to see how well he knows the playbook and reads, and how much the staff trusts him when throwing.
Good stuff. I'll try to post my thoughts later when I have time

Until then, I highly recommend reading Ross Fulton's breakdowns as he's probably the best football analyst in the Buckeye world when it comes to film study

11 Warriors also has good film breakdown and their articles are always free

LT McKinney 330 —> 314 in press release
LG Iwuagwa 318 —> 311 in press release
C Hollins 291 —> 292 in press release (gained a pound)
RG Gaynor 304 —> 295 in press release
RT Niang 340 —> 328 in press release
Rutger's Tariq Cole, one of the best tackles our DEs will face all year, is 317 (6'6"). Both Bosa and Young each got a sack off him, along with multiple hurries. TCU had one OL that made all-conference last year (guard Matt Pryor, second team). In fact, Pryor was the only offensive Hornfrog to make the first or second all-conference team. And no Hornfrog made the media's preseason all-conference team--first or second--on offense. So our guests can throw out all size number they want. We all know that the TCU OL is in for a world of hurt on Saturday...

Exactly why any of us being worried about 225 yards last game should chill. We took what they gave us and had we wanted it we could've named our score.

When you stop playing your starters with 12 minutes in the 3rd both games and still score 64ppg you're doing just fine

False, in terms of size, neither line is bigger than Ohio State's. If you're implying more talented, again that's false....

TCU's OL:

LT Anthony McKinney 6' 8" 314 lbs
LG Cordel Iwuagwu 6' 3" 311 lbs
C Kellton Hollins 6' 2" 292 lbs (yikes)
RG Chris Gaynor 6' 5" 295 lbs
RT Lucas Niang 6' 7" 328 lbs

TCU's DL:

DE Ben Banogu 6' 4" 249 lbs
DT Corey Bethley 6' 2" 290 lbs
DT Terrell Cooper 6' 2" 286 lbs
DE Ty Summers 6' 2" 235 lbs

Ohio State's OL:

LT Thayer Munford 6' 6" 319 lbs
LG Malcolm Pridgeon 6' 7" 315 lbs
C Michael Jordan 6' 7" 310 lbs
RG Demetrius Knox 6' 4" 308 lbs
RT Isaiah Prince 6' 7" 310

Ohio State DL:
DE Nick Bosa 6' 4" 263 lbs
DT Dre'Mont Jones 6' 3" 286 lbs
DT Robert Landers 6' 1" 283 lbs
DE Chase Young 6' 5" 265 lbs

Good luck stopping that DL...

Both of TCU's lines are bigger, so whats to prevent TCU from running down the middle?
Ohio State's o-line outweighs TCU's d-line by an average of 47.4 lbs. TCU's o-line outweighs Ohio State's d-line by an average of 33.75 lbs.

Add in the LBs and TCU's S, the Ohio State O-line outweighs TCU's front 7 by 73.25 lbs. TCU's o-line outweighs Ohio States front 7 by an average of 48.57 lbs.

Sure looks like an advantage to Ohio State if you're trying to run power.

Ehh, never heard of em, but our last two center are in the NFL and the one before that was Andy Dalton's center who won the Rimington and the Rose. #notworried #doyoufeelbetternow #rantover?orno? #awwwwmadbro? #lol
Ohio State has a lot of good former players in the NFL right now that should help them on the field Saturday. Archie Griffin won back-to-back Heisman trophies in ‘74-‘75, which looms large here.
