Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

Listening to JT's post-game interview. He is pure class. Gotta root for the kid. I hope he turns it around. Yeah, Mayfield was better tonight, but he's still a fucking douchebag.
There's nothing he can SAY to forgive this other than "the shitty offensive playcallers wont let me be me". I'm as big a JT apologist as there was, but fuck this and fuck him. I'm done. I wish Burrows hadn't gotten hurt, but shit.....give me the Nevada kid at this point. He won't be shit in the grand scheme of things, but maybe he won't be scared shitless to throw a pass down fucking field.

I don't think JT is the answer but he's who we have and he won't be replaced anytime soon. I think the struggles on offense is actually large part due to how the scheme is ran.

We have been literally running the same plays for the past 6 years now. Teams just have so much film on our system and have so many good game plans that have worked over the past few years to choose from.

We need to expand ourselves and need to revamp the whole system. We don't need to throw it all out that's not what I'm saying but we do need to be more variable with more formations, better constraints, and play designs that help us address our current short comings.

If I'm Meyer I go to Kevin Wilson and say... I don't care what it takes or what you want to install to our offense just get us going. I hate that we say "you have to do what we run" when we bring guys in. They're handcuffing Kevin by doing these things.

Onto the game...

1. Our LBs over pursuit so bad that it's bring exploited in large chunks right now. Very disappointed in their performance this year. Very little anything from this group.

2. Our DBs are just not good. Like at all. I don't mind Ward but he's not a #1 guy to me due to his size. Fuller is perhaps the slowest safety I've seen in a good while at OSU, Arnette hasn't improved at all either and Webb Is just... lmao I won't even with him.

Only person to play a decent game i thought was Sheffield. Good to see him play tough.

3. I'm convinced our offensive line could have controlled this game. Run after run up the middle were there all night but once again we ruin it with this passing stuff. Kevin has good feel for the game but JT is a drive killer with his arm. If I'm Kevin I don't let JT stall anymore drives and I run the brakes off JK and Mike.

I don't care if we have to go to a 80/20 run pass ratio. You do what moves the ball and you stay away from what's killing drives which is JT throwing the football.

4. OU won the battle against our extremely talented front. Hats off to them.

5. JT... I love the kid. He's a great person but he's not our answer. I am not going to complain about him being a starter because really it does no good. UFM will never abandon that kid and for that it will probably mean another Saturday in December when we watch someone represent the east division in the title game.

All these great recruits and accolades but we are probably looking at 1 league title in 6 years... I may catch flack for this grim outlook but I feel I'm just being realistic given the short comings this team has.

Congrats @RCSooner1974 . That offense was what concerned many of us. It honestly played out a bit like I expected, I just thought OSU could get away with their basic offense and control the ground enough to get away with it. Your guys did a great job taking that away.

Really impressed with Baker. He made a lot of plays after the pressure arrived, and he was getting crushed early on.

Very impressed with your specimens at TE & RB. Hope Andrews is ok. Not very impressed with Badet, but he made a lot of plays on scramble drills and he fought through some pretty big early blunders.

Don't congratulate that dipshit.
