Seems pretty simple to me: Win every game you coach or die in a fire.

No pressure.

If you lose games close to teams that you shouldn’t lose to or teams that are potential upset teams it’s understandable. When you get blown out by Purdue and Iowa I’m back to back years and have had weeks of showing any competitiveness against far less talent then there are glaring problems. Not to mention the issues from week 1 still showing in week 8.

Not like I have to go that far back for inspiration.

This is fair. At the same time, that Iowa game was coming off of a highly emotional come from behind win and was a bit of a shock. Tonight was a season full of fatal issues that aren't getting better catching up to them. Does anybody think the LBs are going to magically start playing better at this point? That the CBs are gonna suddenly learn to turn and look for the ball or cover better? That the OL is just gonna start run blocking at an even average level? That this team is going to stop committing dumb penalties at inopportune times after 8 games? This wasn't an aberration. This is just a very flawed, soft, undisciplined team.

Nobody wanted to admit it, but the timing of the Zach Smith mess was terrible. There's no way that didn't throw this team's preparation for the season and development off.
I think there may, may, be some health issues with Meyer that we don't know about.
Possibly. He has documented medical issues and has been under an abnormal amount of stress this year because of the shit mentioned in my second paragraph above.

I feel like I can guarantee if Tressel ever had a QB like Haskins that team would be undefeated.

Pryor for all his good things threw a terrible ball for the much of his career, remember how much we complained about that? Tressel had Troy Smith and a bunch of nobodys

If Tressel ever had a QB like Haskins we'd never know it because he'd be handing it off 30 times a game.

I hate to spoil this, but a QB like Haskins would never have played for Jim Tressel and Nick Siciliano.

When Meyer had that killer instinct and was an innovator. Now that the game has adapted he is falling behind and being outcoached (much like Tressel) The difference between Meyer and Saban is Saban got rid of coaches for far less. Saban adapted to the game and has probably the most dangerous offense in the country. Meyer has regressed since 2014/15 and the defense has never been consistent.

Pointed this out in his thread -

Meyer from 07-10 lost to Lloyd Carr and Henne (gross) in '07, got blown out by Saban in '09, went 7-5 in 2010, and then had a breakdown and had to quit for a year.

Things are certainly not right and there needs to be some big adjustments, but I think it's wrong to act like Meyer is suddenly going downhill or not who he was 10 years ago. If anything I think he's more consistent and smarter than he was at UF.

That is ridiculous. That 2006 team was loaded with highly-rated recruits and NFL draft pics. So was nearly every team after that. Meyer is one of the top-3 recruiters of the modern era, but lets not pretend like Tress was working with a bunch of schlubs. He was a damn fine recruiter himself, and he had some underachieving teams...2008 and 2009 in particular.

And you call yourself "Buckyenation" and even get a mod position for it.

Whatever, you're just some kid from Pennsylvania with multiple loyalties. May not matter to some, but you're just a kid, "staffmember" or otherwise. It means nothing to me, so abuse your power as you see fit, Orangenation.
Where I was born and how much money I had available to me to attend college are good reasons to harbor such hatred.
