Game Thread Ohio State @ Nebraska - 09/28/19, 7:30PM (ABC)

The statistics to date don't mean jack squat. Bucks have not played anybody. That starts tomorrow night. I don't think we can extrapolate how we do in the red zone, how we do on third downs both on offense and defense, how well we defend wide runs, and so on. After the game we will know a lot more about how good this team really is.

That's just not true... Indiana and Cincinnati have defenses that gave us looks. Even if UN is as good or slightly better than those teams it's not too far off at all to what UN will have for us.

I went over this in the statistical thread. OSUs offense has been tested some where as the UN offense has not. Both defenses haven't been tested I agree with that.

This will be the best team we have faced on offense no doubt but defensively they're in the same tier as Indiana and Cincinnati.

I'm just a bit afraid that playing this Nebby team at night in Lincoln is going to be a bigger test of this Buckeye team than most people are thinking. I hope I am wrong and this is a blowout for the good guys.

I think it's a huge test too... I've noticed most acknowledge as such but I think most also have good reasons for feeling solid about this game.

I won't lie I wouldn't be totally shocked if this is a close game but I feel confident myself for a variety of reasons.

1. They turn the ball over
2. They take penalties
3. They have horrendous special teams because of their kicking situation.
4. We have a fairly big edge at the LOS.

Their skill scares me on offense I admitt. I hope we play a ton of zone and keep everything infront of us. We have got to tackle well on defense.

Neighbor is a huge Corn fan. My kid helped me collect about 5 gallons of Buckeyes. Neighbor leaves his truck unlocked overnight with his gym bag in it. Filled every zippered area of that thing. Pockets of his shorts, his shoes, extra socks. Even had some left for his cup holders and a few ninja placements in glovebox and sunglasses holder. Dont think he worked out today as he only sent a "Fuck you, GO CORN" about the cup holders.

I hope Cooper breaks out with a sack or two with all of the attention pivoting to Young.

If we can get a 2nd DE to force teams to play somewhat balanced it'd be enormous.

Buckeyes have a dozen players with sacks

People that focus too much on Chase are already paying for it

As are teams that don’t.

The common thread is that they all pay

The Bucks are currently tied for #1 in sacks with 20 (5 per game). If the defense gets 5+ sacks Saturday, I don't see the game being very close...

NCAA has the Buckeyes in 3rd at 4.75 sacks, meaning there’s 1 TFL that your source counts as a sack that the ncaa does not

I expect after Saturday it won’t matter, but you never know with a guy like Martinez

He may toss it up as he runs for his life and ends up reproducing a certain famous passing chart

Here's what I see when I go to the NCAA stats site:
