The offical site posted this article -- Buckeye senior Chase Buchanan and assistant coach Justin Kronauge pick up prestigous post season honors.

Link

- Chase Buchanan, a senior on the Ohio State men's tennis team, was named Midwest Region Senior of the Year the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced. Justin Kronauge was lauded with regional assistant coach of the year honors.
A 2011 ITA All-American, Buchanan is currently ranked 10th in the nation in singles. He pairs with sophomore Blaz Rola to form the No. 1 doubles tandem in the nation. In singles, the New Albany, Ohio, native is 28-6 overall, including 11-4 vs. nationally ranked opponents. Boasting a 13-match win streak, Buchanan has amassed 104 career singles wins, which ranks him 12th all-time in the Ohio State records books. He also is tied for sixth in the program's annals with 106 career doubles victories.
Totaling 16 Big Ten athlete of the week honors for his career, Buchanan won a trio of doubles titles during the 2011 fall season - the D'Novo/ITA All-American Doubles championship in October and the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Doubles championship in November. ...

Kronauge began his second year as the Buckeye assistant coach in 2011-12. The Dayton, Ohio, native concluded his collegiate career at Ohio State during the spring of 2010 and earned his bachelor's degree in finance that August after posting one of the most successful careers in Ohio State men's tennis history. A two-time All-American and the 2010 Midwest Region Farnsworth/ITA Senior Player of the Year, Kronauge concluded his historic Ohio State tennis career with multiple program records. (Most career singles wins (147), most career doubles wins (128) and most combined wins with 275 victories.) Furthermore, Kronauge, a three-time unanimous All-Big Ten recipient, was just the third Buckeye to have at least 100 singles and 100 doubles wins. He also became just the sixth Ohio State men's tennis player to reach 100 doubles wins.

In his first year as an assistant, Kronauge helped lead the Buckeyes to their second trip to the NCAA semifinals. The former Buckeye netter also was part of Ohio State's sixth-consecutive Big Ten regular season and tournament crowns.
What a great honor for both Buckeyes and especially worthy for Justin who has brought his special insight and motivation that has turned around theplay of the Buckeye's double's teams.
Will be interested to see if he is not offered some head coaching positions at university's based on his accomplishments this year.
The Tucker tree is beginning to grow some wide branches.

OK, so the tennis team is in the Sweet 16, with a tough Florida in front of them, prior to facing off against the higher ranked UCLA. Am sure that Florida has some of there guys trained at the Bradenton camp, but OSU seems to be deeper, and the top guys at OSU are ranked higher. Every day is a new day, and the shots could fall for anyone. Or "Mr Tape" could hold one's shots back, but let other's over the net for points.

After disposing of Fla, UCLA looms. Don't know much about them, except they're not USC. Big match, but OSU will come out in a squeaker.

On to the FinalFour, where will face teams that are ranked higher, and have been there before. I'll let Gracel do the prognostications, as he's the pro from Dover in this arena.....(and he does it much better than I).....

Here's looking at you kid, (through my rose-colored glasses),

By your comment, I am not sure whether you are not aware that UCLA did defeat USC in a match late in the season so I would not dismiss the Bruins that easily.

Also, in a prior post, you mentioned that Tucker needs to remember how to get to New Albany. There might be a kid worthy of that statement 3 years from now but there is nothing on the immediate horizon. In addition, Buchanan never played high school tennis for New Albany. Peter Kobelt is the only player on the Ohio State roster that played high school for New Albany.

Spot on with ucla w over USC. Bruins are much improved with an addition in their lineup in April. They did however lose in the PAC 12 tourney to USC.
Here is the Livestats link for tomorrow's showdown with the gators.

So Ubet is banned, and the opportunity for conversation about the OSU v. Gator round of 16 competition will be less provocative. :(
Always appreciated his insights.
Mods, how long does it take to initiate a Free ubet petition?
Or is it a matter of posting bond?
Wish we could just hire a competent attorney to represent him. :wink2:

OSU v. Gator match start time is scheduled for noon but will depend on the finish of Baylor and Duke.
Right now that match could go longer.

UGa also has a live streaming video feed of all 16 courts.

Single's lineup needs 3 wins.
I am believing Buckeyes will post victories at
#1 Buchanan
#2 Rola and
#5 McCarthy.
and then it could be a matter of who finishes first.
Hunter Callahan is listed in the livestats for the Bucks at #6 singles.
