Goes in the books as a tie though, so we only pick up 1 point for the weekend and don't lock down the 2nd seed for the BTHCC (Michigan can potentially surpass us, and Minny can potentially tie us). Disappointing weekend. I don't know how that will effect us in the pairwise, but I hope it doesn't knock us out of a 2 seed for the NCAA tournament. We close out with two at home with Wiscy. It'll be nice to get at least 4 points out of the weekend and some momentum back.

Correct that. Michigan only has one Big Ten game left with the domers today. They're playing Arizona State next weekend. Sucks for Michigan Man since the most points they can pick up is 3, which would still put them in third place behind us no matter what happens next weekend. Suck failure, tsun. Minny can potentially tie us if they sweep and we get swept. They'll be watchin' out fer their cornholes in Rhythmic Slapping Valley next weekend.

Goalies putting on a show all night and continuing in the shoot out as fourteen of the first sixteen shooters have been denied. Crazy.

Bucks prevail in the 9th round, 2-1! :gagnam:

I didn't see any of last night's game, but I never would have guessed a total of 5 goals between both of these offenses. Ohio State played well in the first game though. It was a matter of a couple shots being six inches one way or the other. That's a far cry from the days of this program heading up to Minny for a proper rogering.

I don't know what the tie-breaker is for the 2 seed in the tournament, but if it's head-to-head, then we did clinch the 2 seed last night with the tie as the season series with Minny was 2-1-1 Buckeyes. So the question becomes, who do we want as the 3 seed, Minny or Michigan, and I'm thinking of who we match up against.

And the 2 seed is huge as it means the difference between hosting Sparty the first weekend rather than hosting (most likely) Wiscy or Ped.

ROMEO EARNS FIFTH B1G STAR OF THE WEEK HONOR

Goalie allowed just three goals in series at Minnesota

For the fifth time this season, goalie Sean Romeo of the No. 6-ranked Ohio State men’s hockey team has earned Big Ten Star of the Week honors. The redshirt junior was tabbed the league’s third star Tuesday after allowing just three goals in a series at No. 8 Minnesota last weekend. This is Romeo’s third weekly honor in the last four weeks.

At Minnesota, Romeo had a 1.45 goals-against average and .952 save percentage, allowing just three goals in a 2-1 loss and 1-1 overtime tie, along with giving up one goal in an eight-round Buckeye shootout win that clinched the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Friday vs. the Gophers, Romeo made 26 saves on 27 shots. Saturday, he had 34 saves through 65 minutes, with seven on the penalty kill (six on a 5-on-3 chance) in a 1-1 overtime tie. In the shootout, he allowed just one goal and made a save in the eighth round to secure the victory.

Romeo is in the Top 10 in the NCAA with a 2.06 goals-against average and .927 save percentage this season. He is 16-8-5 on the year.
