Ohio State Men's Ice Hockey (2019 B1G Champions)

Lost to tsun 0-1. That was a big loss in the pairwise, to lose to an unranked team this late in the season. Definitely need to sweep Sparty at home next week and split with Wiscy in Madison the following.

On a bright note, Rohlik pulled the goalie with 2:30 left. I could hear those big, clanging brass balls all the way up in Columbus. And David Gust kicks ass: scrappy as fuck, takes no shit on the ice and has one shot--slap shot--he winds up and kills it if whether he's 10 feet from the goal or 30.

42 shots on goal and shut out. That's a goalie standing on his head. Fuck Michigan.

That being said, tsun defense looked really, really good and seemed to make the goalie's job easy for him. I think their record is misleading. They're young, lost a shitload off of last year's team and look like a team that's going to compete for a national title next year or the following.

Bad time to drop a game. Lost 5-4 to MSU (hate Sparty lately).

Sounds like they are on the outside of the bubble as it stands now. Get the Spartans again tomorrow in what should be a must win.

Losing to a god-awful Sparty team is really going to screw them. Even with a win tonight, I'm sure they'll drop to around 16-18 in the pairwise. Sad, that they were 8th before the trip to New York but have been doing everything possible to back their way out of the tourney since then.

They may have played their way back into the tourney with two solid wins at #16 Wisconsin this weekend, which puts that at #14 in the pairwise, just need to have a solid B10 tourney and not lose to anyone we aren't supposed to lose to.

As an added bonus, we almost certainly knocked Bucky out of the tourney.

Came back from a 3-3 tie in the 3rd to stomp Sparty 6-3 and move on to the next round robin. We get Wiscy again, and if we win today, we should lock up an NCAA bid.

This is a weird team. They have one of the best offenses in college hockey and will score goals on anyone in the country. OTOH, their goaltending and defense are inconsistent, and they have a bad habit of digging holes for themselves and having to come back and win games in the last period. It's a team who could be one-and-done in the tourney or suddenly catch a hot goalie and, combined with their offensive firepower, win the whole damned thing.

I don't know who watched it yesterday, but there were literally tens of people there. I know it was the first round games and the basketball games were on, but still. Delany needs to admit that this rotating the tournament between Michigan and Minnesota is a failure. Put the damned thing in Chicago where it's centrally located for the Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin fans to get to, and every school (except PSU) has a huge local alumni base.
