Last four games (@Minny and tcun at home) will tell, but they're looking really good right now. We're 7 points up on tcun and only 2 behind the gophers. A lot can happen, but we're looking at a good B1G tourney run and a 2 seed in the ncaa. After last year's painful rebuild, I'll take that.

tcun get a shootout over Minny, so we pick up a point on tcun and two on Minny. We're tied with Minny going into Minneapolis and up 8 on tcun. Up to 6th in the pairwise. A real strong finish the next two weeks (say one sweep and one split) and getting to the B1G championship game, and we'll have a real strong case for a 1 seed in the ncaa.

Biggest series for the program in some time coming up this weekend in Minneapolis. We're tied for second with Minny, but they only have this weekend's series left while we have this and next week against tcun. We could lock up the 2 seed in the B1G with four points this weekend while a split would mean we need only one point against tcun to finish second. We're only three out of first, but Sparty has a pretty easy finish with Notre Dame and the pedsters. If we somehow collapse and let tcun slide into second, we never deserved it in the first place.

Tough 1-4 loss last night. We really need to bounce back and get some points tonight. Sparty lost in OT, so they only picked up a point on us. tcun is off this weekend, so they statistically can't take 3rd from us even with a sweep next weekend.

We really need at least two points tonight to catch Minnesota.

Now, we need a sweep to tie Minnesota, but they get the tiebreaker for 2nd seed anyways. Looks like we'll host Wisconsin in the first round. If we sweep tcun and Sparty only picks up 2 points (unlikely against the domers), there would be a three way tie for 1st, but I have no idea how the tiebreaker would work.
Probably the worst aspect to this weekend is that it probably pushes us back onto the bubble between a 2 and 3 seed in the NCAA. We dropped from 6th to 10th in the pairwise making this weekend a must for the ncaa though it won't affect our B1G seeding. Only shot at an NCAA #1 at this point is to sweep tcun next week and then win the B1G tournament. Sparty choked against the pedsters, so a sweep of Minnesota would have put us into 1st place.
