Game Thread Ohio State @ Iowa, 11/04/17 @ 3:30 (ESPN)

Ok now I'm mad... ELEVEN? That's not acceptable. It's not.

Run the fucking running backs. God dammit I want to scream knowing this.

We have a coach that preaches and never backs it up. Definition of insanity is uhhhhh

I feel like we have gone away from leaning on the run all season. No use of the two back sets even though the coaching staff claims they installed it weeks ago. The hybrid is just another WR at this point, I haven't seen any of the hybrid plays being used. We should be a spread power run team. Right now I just see us as a spread team.

maybe it's just me....I'm not that upset.

Part of it is I'm finding it harder to watch football - even when Ohio State is playing well. I think that's in part due to me missing most of the 1st half of the season with my son's football season. I don't feel the connection and I won't even mention the abomination that is the NFL.

That said - this team has never felt "good". They show flashes, but they show what they could be, not what they actually are. Today wasn't what they are either, but this is the floor. This is a true low floor-high ceiling team. Could they beat anyone if they are playing well? Yes. Could they lose to literally everyone? Yes. Well maybe not Rutgers. But they could absolutely lose to teams like Nebraska or Minnesota or <insert mediocre non-spread Big Ten team here>. That's the make up of this team. There's little actual leadership and the coaching is leaving a lot to be desired. The best that could be said is that even with all these problems they still have the inside track to the Big Ten title game if they win next week. I guess.

I hate Iowa.

Urban is fine. He might need to change his philosophy a bit but he's fine. The talent is incredible. Maybe it's just time to line the kids up in a different way. Add some creative to the old school ways. Just beat the life out of teams. Let everyone in the country know what you are going to do and try and stop it. Can't have the best players play if the RB's in this program are capable of not being used for quarters at a time. Maybe we need a little less frosting and a lot more cake so to speak.

We have falsely assumed we are a pass first team. We are a offense that should be running the ball for 300 before we ever throw for 300.

Besides if we run the ball well we keep them off the field.

I'm sorry but Booker should be done at LB too.. put Worely out there and put Borland in the middle.

The play of the game (my last play watching) was the fake field goal that ended up putting them up 21. How do you not call time out? How the fuck. Do you not call timeout there.

If we call a time out they probably either punt the ball or go for it.

Just saw we thew 4 Ints too lol... I wont lie after we went down 38-17 I turned it off.

I said it during the week though that I hoped we didn't let last weeks passing performance take us away from what works for us. We arent and never will be a throw first offense and the second we think we are we are DONE.

definition of insanity yada yada yada. Every loss is the same for us. So why don't we fucking learn

I think JT and the coaching staff bought into all the Heisman hype were trying inflate JTs numbers instead of actually running the ball.

I agree with you... UFM is a good coach but like many successful people I think Urbans pride is his down fall. He thinks his way is unwavering and I don't see him making 1 change

I love tOSU football but this team is tough to love. Corners celebrating incomplete passes like they shut down Jerry Rice, stupid penalties, out of position line backers who stop and look after they have been beat by a TE again, over running tackles, targeting ( no matter how bad the rule) , unnecessary TO because of communication issues and on and on. Respect to a team with less talent who stuck to the plan and executed. IOWA..

On that fake field goal, I still don't know how the center is an eligible receiver. Can someone explain that to me?

I agree on the LB play - Bill Davis has under performed. Booker has regressed and I'd say the same on Worley. I trust Baker still but he has been much quieter but that's more on scheme than him IMO.

Just poorly coached and prepared man... I feel bad for urban because I know he wants to win every game by 50. It pains me to see the man run his hand through his hair (His Insecure tick) and I'm not sure how he turns all this around.

We keep Bringing in top 3 recruiting classes and then fail. Something isn't right and I hope he can put his pride aside and figure it out. When I think of osu I think of speed and talent. I never think of us being well coached and prepared though.

We are so much bark and no bite.
