Game Thread Ohio State @ Indiana, 08/31/17 @ 8:00 ET (ESPN)

I have never been so pissed off and stressed during an ass whooping

seriously

oddest game ever
My guess is they were working off the funk of Tim Beck and Warriner. One area I saw huge improvement is the offensive line. Their pass pro was great all night and they went to work in the run game. Kudos to them. I don't even think I noticed Isiah Prince at all.

One of the biggest compliments to an Olineman is never hearing his name called during the game.

I'll rewatch this weekend and watch specifically for line play. I generally just like to ball watch live... but I suspect that I'll like what is waiting on the DVR.

Biggest knock on Weber last season was breaking tackles or keeping his feet through first contact. Dobbins does not suffer that deficiency. He is, dare I say, Clarrett-like with the hop step and lateral agility.

But he has absolutely no idea who to block in blitz pickup or pass plays right now. He would repeatedly chip a guy Billy Price was in the process of pancaking, or leaving a spy or MLB free. On multiple JT keepers and the KJ Hill inside-give, he was the lead blocker through the hole and did not block anybody.

It's going to be an interesting battle. Six of one; half dozen of the other. Weber picked up the yards that were there and pancaked guys in pass pro. Dobbins is the complete opposite; homerun threat but doesn't know who to block yet.

Guys, I have to apologize. I had to get on a conference call at 10 pm and I told folks I would be late to the call. Since it was an internal call and not a client call I can get away with being really late for this work call. When I went into my office for the OSU was leading 20-14. During the call I could hear my wife whopping and hollering. I came out for a second it is 27-21 OSU and I go back into my office and my wife starts hollering again soon after. My call finishes and she tells me to go back into my office because every time I go in 5 minutes later we score. Clearly the first half and the the last two years of the offense are my fault. I am now considering selling my tickets for next week's game and hanging out in the office next Saturday night.

Weber better get healthy quick.

Herbstreit went from, "This is the best offense Ohio State will face all season" to "Next week Ohio State will have a REAL test," in one quarter.
To be fair to him, he did technically say QB/wrs i.e. passing offense, not total offense. Not that I agree with that anyways, but there's at least an argument. I'd still take Baker Mayfield and whoever the hell his receivers are.

Maybe I'm just crazy.

Man what a game. Here on the other side of the world it's Friday morning/afternoon so naturally I'm at work. I was able to sham and watch most of the first half. After being thoroughly pissed off by the sub-par performance, I said, "Screw it!" and quit the game at half time. To say I am pleasantly surprised would be an UNDERSTATEMENT! I guess all it took was me getting my sorry ass back to work!
