Great Win...

Congratulations to y'all for making the Final 4.

1 Win from a National Championship app.

2 Wins away from a National Championship.

I still like the UT fans...thanks for the continued support.I think 10 games with UT we win 6 maybe...10 games wih Memphis we win 9...maybe 10. Other than incredible 3 point shooting early, they had nothing really.

On to the Final Four! Way to go Bucks!

:osu:

Edit: No need to bash the Memphis players--21

What a great game. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some CBS tickets so I headed down to the game. Because I live in Texas that's the first game I've had the oppurtunity to go to. One thing I really noticed in person was the intimidation Oden provides by well.... not really doing anything. A true game changer.

cwise, who is coming in next year besides rose? with your youth, you guys will be stacked.

The Tigers should return all but Jeremy Hunt and two walk-on seniors.

Derrick Rose comes in to play the point.
Shawn Taggart, a 6-11 PF transfer from Iowa St. will be eligible.
Jeff Robinson, a 6-7 SF-PF from New Jersey is our other recruit. He'll have to earn his minutes behind Anderson, CDR, Mack, and the rest, but he's currently a top 50 recruit himself.

We alos have Marcus and Markieff Morris from Philly signed, but they're going to prep school for a year, which works for us cause we don't have the schollies available.

That leaves our team like this:

1. Derrick Rose - Andre Allen - Willie Kemp
2. Chris Douglas-Roberts - Tre'von Willis (a good 4 year type player)
3. Antonio Anderson - Doneal Mack - Jeff Robinson - Chance McGrady (Tracy's cousin, garbage timer)
4. Robert Dozier - Shawn Taggart - Pierre Niles
5. Joey Dorsey - Kareem Cooper - Hashim Bailey

That should be our team. Only three newcomers, and everyone gains the experience from this season. Add in Rose, Taggart, and Robinson and we're loaded to the tilt.

We've known all along that NEXT year and LAST year were going to be special, this season was just the bonus.

I've enjoyed posting over here a lot more than other fan sites, FWIW.

As to the "UT was a better test than Memphis" remark: Had you got that far behind against UofM, you don't win the game. You played against us the entire game the way you played against UT the second half. A few shots the other way and we win.

That said, way to close out the win, and good luck in the Final Four.

Why the thugs comment?

Other than Dorsey running his mouth before the game, what stood out as "Thuggish?"

I'm so tired of this stereotypical BS from those that have no clue about the Tiger program.

If I recall, Troy Smith seemed to have some troubles before he got things back on track.

Just because our players have tattoos and cornrows we're thugs????

Don't follow it up bro...your kids played hard and they played clean. "Thug" seems to be a catch-all label anymore...

Don't get baited into making stupid comments about beloved Buckeyes, especially from some newbie with 2 posts. Your team played a good, hard game and they have nothing to hold their heads about. One guy made a stupid comment, but Karma took care of him. No way do they appear to be Thugs in any way. Best of luck to them next year and hope you stick around to give insight through the rest of the tourney.

until the 3:47 point in the second half when ohio state was up 74-66, the bucks had made 8 second half free throws (10 attempts) to the tigers' 5 (8 attempts). also to the mark of 3:47, each team had been called for 7 fouls. from that point on, memphis attempted 10 more shots, with 6 of those being 3-point shots and one more being a 2-point jumper. on the other hand, ohio state didn't attempt a single jumper with 3:47 left. because they drove to the bucket for each shot attempt, they forced memphis to foul and they solidified the win by making all 18 free throw attempts in the final 4 minutes.

This should be writ in stone somewhere.

Memphis accumulating fouls at a ridiculous rate was the story of the game for me. Two of their contributors fouled out and Dorsey was severely limited by foul trouble. And then there were the free throws down the stretch ....

...it was more relaxing watching the blowout.

This was not a blowout...it was a very close game until the last four minutes when we forced their hand when they got into foul trouble, and only then did we gradually pull away to the final victory margin.

Awesome game Buckeyes!!!! Definitely the best end-to-end game they've put together all year!
What's scary is that the threes weren't falling for the entire first half. If they get those, this game is a rout. They still haven't put everything together. Six of one, half dozen of the other and we're onto the Final Four regardless. Hopefully they land in Atlanta and hit on all cylinders ... it'd be so sweet to avenge those two losses, both UNC and Florida.

Conversely, if Memphis didn't go 7-10 from behind the arch in the first half, it's a rout also (Memphis shot only 3-12 from 3-pt land in the second half). Live by the three...

I agree, Mili. They were lights out the first half and still almost dropped 50% from the 3-point range.

Our incredible performance from the foul line just took the strategy of fouling us and catching up away from them late. Nothing like stopping the clock so your opponent can run the score up a bit more and then not hitting your shots.
