We played a tough game and left everything we had on the field. I am proud of the effort they showed. Unlike the USC game and some of the other letdowns, we kept fighting in the fourth quarter and gave it all we had.

We almost always ran the ball on first down, and they almost always brought a safety way up in the box on first down.
It's hard to block 7 on 8 or 7 on 9 and have anywhere to go.
We never made them get out of their 1st and 2nd down scheme.
Crap. we had third and very long all night. It's a wonder we scored at all with the playcalling on first and second down. We made it very easy on their D-Coordinator tonight.
The only major failing I noticed on the O-line tonight was at RT, and some at RG.
Granted - I only saw the game from their first FG forward. I was trying to listen in the car (bad reception) up until then. But I still didn't hear us doing much besides running Beanie into an 8 or 9 man front even then.

sepia5;1306175; said:Well, I don't mean to be overly negative, but at the same time a degree of honesty is necessary upon losing a game like this in the 'Shoe. This may well be the most disappointing team since 1995 or so, given the pre-season expectations. I know we're starting a freshman QB (which, in and of itself is the result of disappointment), but there is no excuse for losing to USC by 33 points or to PSU at home. I find it hard to believe, particularly in light of last year's ass whipping we put on nearly the same PSU team, that we should have dropped this game. The OL has underperformed this season. The DL has underperformed this season. The backfield has underperformed this season. Special teams have been a disaster this season. The QB situation is what it is. The WRs have underperformed this season. The LBs have, at the very least, not improved. Frankly, this team has drastically regressed. I hope the Frosh remember tonight.
Clarity;1306265; said:You're not really comparing this to the USC game in any way, are you? Check Pryor's stats, he didn't do anything tonight that should reasonably trigger a demotion. If not now, when should the kid grow? If you set him back by yanking him after a tough loss against a higher ranked favored team, when do you want to start working forward with him again? Against Michigan? In a bowl game? First few games of a new season?
Don't turn this into Boeck vs. Pryor.
#17buckeyefan;1306278; said:I'm trying not to. Yes, I agree. I was just mostly wondering if anyone else heard anything about the QB situation. I didn't believe it..I was just wondering. I think that was a good thing for Pryor to experience, and will probably help him out next season. Sorry I didn't mean it how it came across.

coltsfan16;1306269; said:why would there be changes at our starting QB? and where, other than people standing close to you, would you hear that there may be changes at the QB position? that is one of the dumbest things i have heard in a long time. pryor played a really good game. had the OL pushed forward 1 yrd, pryor heads straight for a 1st down and doesn't fumble. the hail-mary int. was not what cost us to lose the game.
