Game Thread Ohio State 6, Penn State 13 (Oct. 25)

Then the offensive play calling shouldn't have been of the nature of a wrapped up game. Why try and milk the clock with 9 minutes left. Show the defense something. Try to put the game away. Give the team a chance to win. The offense didn't do that tonight.

The D played lights out. Holding this team to 13 points is something to be very proud of. Herbstriet couldn't believe it.

Be honest. If I had told you that Ohio State would hold PSU to 13 tonight would you have said "Bucks could still lose the game." Fucking Syracuse scored 13 on them.

I agree that with as much time left and the way PSU's O started moving the ball better in the 2nd half, that it shouldn't have been dive left, dive right, QB sneak.

And if you would have told me tOSU would hold PSU to 13 points, I would have thought that tOSU would blow them out. I thought PSU would at least double that point total though, honestly.

Explain to me why, on what turned out to be the final play, that ALL of tOSU's receivers were in the endzone???

The play calling is just horrendous. This is the third game this year that the Buckeyes have failed to score ONE touchdown.

Some need to swallow their pride. Hire a competent offensive coordinator or tOSU will continue to lose in these big games.

Sorry, but I'm just frustrated as hell.

What's funny is, a lot of you guys are disappointed....I just got home from the bar, where it was all Penn State...and just me. They were shitting their pants when they were tied 3-3 at the half...most of them thought it was over with us up 6-3 and having the ball. After the game, everyone was shocked they only won by a touchdown...SHOCKED! They all thought they were going to walk over us like they did Wisconsin.

I don't know about you guys, but I am extremely proud of this Buckeye Team and I cannot wait until I come to the Shoe on Nov. 22 and watch Meatchicken get smoked. If you expected TP to not make one mistake on the big stage and be Senior Troy Smith right away, your fucking nuts. TP is a great QB...and he will continue to grow and become a legendary QB. HE IS A FRESHMAN. It was a hard fought game and all I can say to my buddies is wait til next year.

Keep your heads up Bucks, the season isn't over!

Oh, and one more thing. What the fuck are they doing with Small still back there returning kicks. He's only fumbled the ball like a dozen times already this season, luckily recovering them. He scares the shit out of me the way he lets it go way over his head and then falls backwards.

No, I heard them say Ohio State QB situation. Not PSU.

Never heard that..... if they did say that, then they are completely off. There is no way you sit TP after this game. With the kind of blocking we have been getting it would be suicide to place TB back in there. I like TB, I think that he has a great arm and is a smart kid, but he is not mobile enough considering how the O-line has blocked.

I'm trying not to. Yes, I agree. I was just mostly wondering if anyone else heard anything about the QB situation. I didn't believe it..I was just wondering. I think that was a good thing for Pryor to experience, and will probably help him out next season. Sorry I didn't mean it how it came across.

If Todd had spent much more time behind this O line then he would have been out anyway.

I nearly had to change my boxers 2-3 times tonight because of Small. How about Mo Wells kick return or lack thereof late in the game? I think Thomas is far and away our best return option.

When i think about this loss, it reminds me exactly of 2005. The Penn state that year that beat us, and we went on and won the fiesta bowl (over nd :)) We played SOLID all of next year because Troy learned from it, and so did pittman and everyone else. I see us regrouping, and being a very dangerous team next year. I hate to waste all this talent this year, with beanie and MJ and james...but you cant win em all. But hey, if penn state wins out and goes to the NC, and we win out, we go to the Rose bowl. I would be damn proud to go the rose Bowl, and get a win to propel us into next season, just like we did in 2005 to 2006. I cant wait for JT to let TP roam free next year. The last play tonight was exactly what JT wanted to avoid....he doesnt want to get TP's confidence down. But i guarentee TP will gain a whole lot from this experience...hes not normal, hes a real special kid, and next year will show it for sure. It took JT a while before he let Troy roam free in the offense....just give TP some time, and next year we will be explosive.

by the way, the refs made terrible ball spots tonight, mainly against us. TP's run in the 4th with 4mins left, we should have had 4th and 3, not 4th and 4, and hell, maybe we go for it. and the spot they gave us on beanie's run was complete garbage, and the fumble should have never happened. Oh well...Go penn state, make the big 10 proud! :oh:
