So, in case anyone needs any reason to know that Ohio State will win, Beano Cook just picked Washington for his weekly pick.

Whew, glad we got that game out of the way. A wins a win.

Now what do you guys think about Northwestern?

I don't think the OL and DL picks are too outrageous(though I'd give us the edge in both) it's the overall and coach. I mean...WTF?

Maybe they mixed Ohio State and Tress up with LLLLLLLoyd or something LOL

To me I think it's pretty outrageous they pick their D-Line over the Bucks who have given up VERY low ground yards in the first two games. OL, eh edge Ohio State still but not by much... QB is questionable... They make the decision because Boekman has one bad start, not shocking. I think we'll see a different TB on Saturday, at least I will IN HD!!!! HAHAHA Sorry, still VERY excited about the whole HD experience!

These Huskies certainly are not a walk in the park. Throw out your pre-season thoughts, and get ready for a game. Barton says he'll be ready, and I'm sure the feeling is making it's rounds, but there are no promises in this one. Our Bucks are definitely going to have to finally put one together to come out of Washington with 3 wins. I hope for it, and I almost expect it, but I'd be a fool to....

Tressel never coached Notre Dame, Willingham did- so he must be better, right?

SHIT you're right! Ty didn't do a thing AT NoD BUT that's NOT IMPORTANT.. He still coached there making him the second and a half best coach in all of football. Charlie Weis being number 1 and also half of 2.

Obviously the coaching staff is just laughable. I think anybody at Washington would have to agree that there is no way they could call the coaching staff there better than the staff at Ohio State. But the rest of these projections could be right on. Our lines, especially our offensive line hasn't proved anything this year. I wasn't very impressed by the defensive line in the opener, but I thought there was marked improvement last week. But it was against one of the worst offensive lines in D1a. Our offensive line looks good on paper, but it hasn't impressed me yet on the field. Washington's O-line has looked solid. Their passing game looks solid too. I think we match-up really well with them though. I think we may be able to pass a lot in this game. If TB is on, then I think we will be fine. I don't think we need anything amazing from him, just solid play like in the YSU game or the second half last week. I expect our recievers to be open all day long. If the pass protection is there, maybe we put up 30 points.

OSU's Heacock knows Huskies' winning tradition

Defensive coordinator doesn't expect his unit to have as easy a time with Washington as first two opponents.

COLUMBUS ? Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Heacock wouldn't mind waking up again to majestic views of Mount Rainier as he did as an assistant coach at Washington in the 1980s ? or reliving those invigorating days working under the legendary Don James.
The Huskies played in a bowl game all five seasons Heacock was there, finishing 11-1 and beating Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl in 1984.

SEATTLE ? To commemorate the 1960 Washington Huskies, who beat No. 1 Minnesota in the Rose Bowl, the university wanted to market throwback jerseys with the number 60 on them this season.

Northwest retailers, however, balked at 60. The retailers? message: ?Put No. 10 on it, and we?ll buy them.?

They did and they?re selling as fast as this year?s Huskies have started.

Buckeyes could be walking into a trap
BY JON SPENCER | THE (MANSFIELD) NEWS JOURNAL

1x1.gif

As the Buckeyes fly to Seattle today, I can't help wondering if they're really headed for Siberia.
Saturday's host, Washington, while unranked and picked to finish ninth in the Pac-10, is listed among "others receiving votes" in the Associated Press Top 25 and is coming on fast. The Huskies opened their season by thumping Syracuse in the Carrier Dome, then snapped what was the nation's longest current winning streak by beating then-No. 22 Boise State 24-10.
Coach Ty Willingham's Huskies will enter Saturday's game 2-0 for the first time since 2001, energized by one of the more raucous fan bases in the country and armed with the knowledge that Ohio State failed to win in its previous two visits to the Great Northwest.
