Game Thread Ohio State 33, Washington 14 (Final)

I'll be using Skybus to get from St Augustine to Cbus the week before. Seems like a good deal, sure is cheap. Pure online interaction, no humans manning any phones so if your not comfortable doing it all online I would look elsewhere.

Dennis Dodd talks about the Huskies tough schedule.

sportsline

My favorite part:

Why not welcome in the man who fired you? That's the uncomfortable situation Turner will face when he shakes hands with (or a fist at) Ohio State president Gordon Gee in Week 3.
The only reason Turner is at Washington is because Gee, then at Vanderbilt, did away with the athletic department in 2003. No athletic department. No need for an athletic director. Thanks, Todd. See you down the road.
"I'll have one of his bow-tie cookies," Turner said remembering Gee's favorite home-baked treats on game days.
Any temptation to crumble one of the cookies into Gee's mug?
"Heck no, are you kidding me?" Turner said. "He's an interesting guy."
Let's see how interesting Gee is in the fourth quarter of a double-digit Washington loss.

One other thing of note: OSU is 57th in schedule strength (very, very average) according to Dodd's Dubious Deductions... err... I mean, Dodd's formula.

Not that OSU's schedule is anything but average, but some of the other conclusions that the formula leads one to are Dubious at best.

Living 220 miles south would have hopefully lended itself to allow me to see my Buckeyes after a number of years, but I'll just have to wait until they play Oregon State or U of Oregon.

Anyone have an idea if Ohio State will be playing all the teams in the PAC-10 eventually or not?

Tough schedule? Huskies relish challenge
By John Sleeper,
Herald writer
SEATTLE Marcel Reese smiled when he first saw the schedule.

That's what he said, anyway.

And with a straight face, the budding star wide receiver for the Washington Huskies said he believes the team will shock more than a few people, playing what most publications see as the nation's toughest schedule. He even mentioned the possibility of knocking off all 13 opponents. "National championship" escaped Reese's lips.

"I mean it," Reese said. "I mean it in all sincerity and with all my heart."

Anyway...is their game with Syracuse televised tonight?

"eventually." That's a long, long time. I'm going to go with "Ohio State WILL play all the teams in the PAC-10 eventually." But not at the same time.

Washington looked good tonight.. Even if it was just Syracuse... Lets see how they do against Boise State next week.

Agreed...not sure if tonight's game is an indictment on the Orange or an indication that Locker and UW aint half bad. Check out the link and the video by Colin Cowherd, Spielman, and Sean McDonough.

9/15 is going to be an intriguing game.

I'd say it was a bit of both. Syracuse is just that bad but UW obviously has taken a step foreward in overall team athleticisim. Locker and the RB(#9) look good but they were playing guys who wouldn't even be 3rd string for us.

Right now I think the best thing that could happen for us is for UW to beat Boise, ride that confidence in and play a close game with us. Hopefully that could propel them to play over their heads and have a nice season maybe even knock off someone they shouldn't like UCLA or USC.
