Game Thread Ohio State 33, Washington 14 (Final)

Sorry if you misunderstood.

I like the huskies on the schedule. They are a worthy OOC game, and yes... I prefer not to PM....which is why I turned them off.

PM's are annoying as hell. IMO

I figure if something is worth saying, it can be said in the room.

Lot of talk about YSU in the UW game thread.

For anyone who cares, that stuff has been moved to the reference locker. That discussion can continue over there, but it doesn't belong in the Washington game thread.

This article at 4malemute.com thinks the huskies will edge out a win by catching the Bucks flatfooted. This while giving us a huge edge in talent but a good article anyway.

Prediction:
A hungry Washington team will catch Ohio State flatfooted and over-confident, basking in the glory of two easy opening victories and in what could have been a national championship in 2006. Washington?s speedy front seven will test the running ability of the Buckeyes? big, lumbering quarterbacks.
This is the time for emerging star quarterback Montlake Jake to shine and could be one of the big upsets of 2007. The poet in me says that Willingham will hand Tressel a brilliant scarlet vest?on a gray overcast tray...amidst the fury of a loud, raucous fray.
Washington 23, Ohio State 21

Going back and reading this drivel again, it is apparent this guy does not know what he is talking about. To give Washington the edge at WR is ridiculous considering Robiskie and Hartline are future NFLers, which is not something any of the current UW WRs can say. He also lists Nick Patterson as the heir to Brandon Mitchell when we all know Russell is back and good as new. He also give the UW QB the edge based on the potential that he could finally break out. Lastly the "slight edge" he gives to the OSU DL is laughable. Gholston and Wilson might as well line up in the backfield.

Was this written by beano cook? Who basks in the glory of getting embarrassed on national TV, and mocked all offseason? Splendid logic :slappy:

Of course they were "basking", as evidenced by how out of shape they are. Or did you not notice that when you were snapping all of those pictures.

The funny thing, I read all his blather. Up till the final part I thought that, despite some biased positional assessments, there was only one way he could logically predict the outcome.

But, instead he picked the other way.

How many UW fans actually believe that do you think?

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

In a first-of-its-kind deal, Skybus Airlines and Ohio State University are offering a package deal tied to the OSU-University of Washington football game.
Fans will be able to buy tickets at $65 each to the Sept. 15 game when they purchase roundtrip airfare on Skybus flights being added for the occasion. With its usual once-daily flights to Bellingham, Wash., nearly sold out on Sept. 14 and 16, Skybus has added a flight between the cities on each day.

Dennis Dodd talks about the Huskies tough schedule.

sportsline

Toughest/Easiest Schedules: Huskies rank first, but that's bad

Ty Willingham did this to himself. Gladly signed off on it without -- let's be clear -- any sort of high-caliber coercion aimed at his temple.

The same goes for his boss at Washington, AD Todd Turner. There is no known use of hallucinogens in his past, so we can rule out bad acid too.
So what happened to possibly squash the hopes and dreams of a bunch of up and coming Huskies this season? The toughest schedule in the country. It isn't even close. LSU is a distant second in my Tough Schedules Homogenous Index Table.

Shortened that's Tough S-H-I- ... Woops. I may have to re-think that abbreviation, but at Washington it fits.

I ran the 2007 schedules of all 119 I-A teams through my turbo-powered desk calculator (see "Notes on the formula" below) and was able to give definition to something so heinous that you feel sorry for the fine men of U-Dub this season.

Cont'd ...
