Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

Blakes BP Thread. I remember his recruitment and really wanting him as we needed a TE. He was arguably the best TE in his class but I don't remember any talk of RB let alone being the best in the nation even as a Freshman.

I found out yesterday that the Dayton area will hold not one but two Buckeye Bash's for this game. The Greene will hold one of them with jumbo tron TV, live music, food and drinks(www.thegreene.com - event calendar) and the other will be at the Taste of the Miami Valley at Riverscape(Taste of Miami Valley) on 25 foot screens. It's good to see the Buckeye Nation is alive and well in Dayton. They have had these in the past promoted by the local ABC affiliate but because the TV contracts could not lock down a date and time to get the planning done. I only hope the weather holds out.

We had a brief discussion about the fact that this thread has had much less traffic than either of the Texas game threads. I suggested that this was because there weren't very many USC fans driving the discussion. To solidify the point, I used the examples of how Xrayrandy and UTMNC would make several posts a day that would get a slew of responses.

Ever since then, methomps has been doing a half-hearted impression of UTMNC.

I noticed the same, but as many, I would love to see more real conversation with some diehard USC fans that love football. It's a shame that a program that successful has more media fans than real ones....

Here's why he likes the comparison. If we were on that level, USC might have a shot.

Washington - 27-24
Stanford - 24-23
Arizona - 20-13

Although you shot yourself in the foot in those contests, those are the kind of things that a Tressel team will kill you for. Unfortunately we did the same in the most important one. I would never underestimate the talent of USC, but I do find experience to be a factor in making these kind of mistakes. (IE: 3 TO's and 16 penalties against Washington)

Akron? Michigan? Purdue? Illinoy? Point is evryone has some close games against teams they should beat, and even lose to some, so your point is moot. Washington doesnt count because both teams lost their composure and received some silly penalties. Bad game all around.

late to the party, my search button is broken on my version of BP. Is it set in stone Mark Sanchez is this starter or could Mitch Mustain work his way in. If Mustian is riding the sideline would you anticipate any locker room issues?

I watched Petie interviewed today on ESPN (I think it was college gameday). Anyway, he said that Sanchez is the man but made an intersting comment about Sanchez needing to worry about how fast Mustain and Corp will catch up to him. I don't remember exactly how it was worded though.

they just replayed the interview and he said that right now Mrk is way in front of MM. Also said that they are doing the same things with Joe M that they did with Reggie. PC also gave props the the 'Shoe as his favorite stadium other than the Coliseum.

Swing, and a miss! Nice effort, but your attempt to cite parallel games misses the mark. Akron failed to score on offense. Purdue didn't score until the end of the 4th. Beanie had nearly 2-1/2 times more yards than UM had as a team. None of those games were within 1 score. The only game out of the 4 that was considered a "should" win at the time was Akron. I'll bet if you added up the betting lines from all 4 games, they still wouldn't equal the line for USC/Stanford (Akron may throw that off). And Washington does count, because we beat them by 19, you squeaked out a 3 pointer.

To answer your question, yes. Right now Sanchez is the starter, but that could chage. Each week on tuesday CPC has competition tuesday and every starter has to earn their spot, qbs included. And if he isnt playing well, CPC will pull him and put in Mustain. :)

Not a swing and a miiss! I didnt watch those osu games, and I am pretty sure you didnt watch SC's games, and are just going on stats. On here posters say that stats can be misleading. So, which is it? Cant have it both ways. I think you swung and missed, Illinoy? I think osu should have beat them as well.And ,who cares what the line is? I dont gamble, so I dont even look at those, and bookies arent always right, unless they have inside info.:)
