Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

Blakes BP Thread. I remember his recruitment and really wanting him as we needed a TE. He was arguably the best TE in his class but I don't remember any talk of RB let alone being the best in the nation even as a Freshman.

That's his silent position.

just for the hell of it... USC doesn't have a back like Beanie... Beanie is the best back in the nation. He's the only buckeye player that i'm positive that he's the best at his respective position.

You can argue Ray over Animal etc...

And you always have some good corners in college ball so Malcolm is hard pressed as the best at his position as well. However, I have no doubt no one can come close to doing what Beanie can do. Sure some players might be faster, but you won't find a back with a better combo of size/speed/vision/moves and strength than beanie.

Dennis Dodd disagrees.

At orange Lutheran, where Blake played high school football, he primarily was a TE, but played alittle RB and some defense as well. Pretty good speed for a big guy. :)

6'5 235 4.7 40

I agree he has measurables to be a RB and I'm sure the numbers have gotten better since november of last year but to say he is a top 10 RB in the country, when other than that there hasn't been much/any talk of RB, is ludacris.

USC has a recruit coming in, Blake Ayles, who could be the best WR or RB (better than Wells) in the country except that we want to put him at TE because we already have McKnight, Johnson, Gable, etc (all comparable to Wells).
The buckeyes have this guy named Joe Bauserman (or something like that) who is a QB. He was a pitcher for the majors in baseball but he didn't make it. He's also from the south. Boeckman can only dream of being like Bauserman. Joe Bauserman's great uncle also played for Ohio State.

From a youtube poster under a Buckeye video...:(

Didn't you read the youtube post? OSU is on par with Arizona.

Here's why he likes the comparison. If we were on that level, USC might have a shot.

Washington - 27-24
Stanford - 24-23
Arizona - 20-13

Although you shot yourself in the foot in those contests, those are the kind of things that a Tressel team will kill you for. Unfortunately we did the same in the most important one. I would never underestimate the talent of USC, but I do find experience to be a factor in making these kind of mistakes. (IE: 3 TO's and 16 penalties against Washington)

"Oh, it was a terrible night. Horrible night," USC coach Carroll said, already looking ahead to next weekend's home game against Stanford. "It's how we respond now."
