Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

USC has a recruit coming in, Blake Ayles, who could be the best WR or RB (better than Wells) in the country except that we want to put him at TE because we already have McKnight, Johnson, Gable, etc (all comparable to Wells).

I can see that, since you have 3 backs that are the best in the country, why through a 4th in there. TE sounds like a good fit!

but maybe you could work him in and run some variation of the veer or something???

So let me get this right...

He may be the best running back in the country, but he can't supplant McKnight or Johnson at Tailback? Sounds more like a weakness at TE than anything else.

And not one of those guys is comparable to Wells. Their styles aren't even close to similar.

This is clearly a clinical psychotic reaction to the meds he is currently taking... its not his fault, its a disease.

Not a weakness at TE. Ayles probably won't start.

just for the hell of it... USC doesn't have a back like Beanie... Beanie is the best back in the nation. He's the only buckeye player that i'm positive that he's the best at his respective position.

You can argue Ray over Animal etc...

And you always have some good corners in college ball so Malcolm is hard pressed as the best at his position as well. However, I have no doubt no one can come close to doing what Beanie can do. Sure some players might be faster, but you won't find a back with a better combo of size/speed/vision/moves and strength than beanie.

That's a relief. Hard to imagine the best running back in the country can't find a starting spot on the Trojan roster.

You may need to rephrase that...

"That's a relief. Hard to imagine the best running back in the country can't find a starting spot at TIGHT END on the Trojan roster."

Gawd, I heard they are actually going to have the 2002 Oakland Raiders suit up instead.

Even though Ayales is gonna be a beast at TE, the TE tearing it up in spring practice was Rhett Ellison, son of former SF 49er Ricki Ellison. I am sure you will see him sept. 13.:)

Blakes BP Thread. I remember his recruitment and really wanting him as we needed a TE. He was arguably the best TE in his class but I don't remember any talk of RB let alone being the best in the nation even as a Freshman.
At orange Lutheran, where Blake played high school football, he primarily was a TE, but played alittle RB and some defense as well. Pretty good speed for a big guy. :)
