Anybody else surprised the line is only +9.5? I guess the Vegas types at least arent buying into the Trojan hype machine or our apparent "demise" after Saturday.
I for one, am not buying into the "demise" of osu. I still think the game wll be close. I do believe the trojan hype though! I am supposed to! I think alot of osu fans are hoping the trojans take the buckeyes lightly. I dont think they will, but they are young, so you never know.

As a USC fan, I'm not worried about Boeckman or Beanie- Boeckman is an above average pocket passer but does not make good decisions under pressure, and Beanie is a great back but our LB's will do a good job limiting him. The one weapon OSU has that worries me is Pryor- USC has struggled against running QB's, and I think the constant blitzing and aggressive D will work against Boeckman, but not Pryor. I'm sure Tressel realizes this, and i would be surprised if TP doesn't get significant playing time. He is inexperienced, but it doesn't take a lot of experience to take the snap, start running, and try not to get tackled. Works in Florida and Illinois, I'm sure OSU will figure it out.

I don't think USC takes this game any more lightly because of OSU's poor performance against OU, and I don't think the fans (the smart ones anyway) are looking at this as an easy win. But if USC takes the early lead, I don't see the Buckeyes catching up. OSU is built to play with the lead, and if they go down by two TD's early, I don't see the power-I and Beanie bringing them back. If USC gains early momentum, watch out. But if OSU can grind it out and move the ball early on, this will be a close one.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Nice forum you have here... you guys are pretty knowledgable compared to most other CFB sites.

The national respect never really came from winning that championship due to the Clarett fiasco and then the Troy Smith incident. It went from 2002 NC right into the [censored]ter as far as national rep goes.

I still dont think OSU gets they credit they deserve for the 2002 season. They beat a team absolutely stacked with NFL talent and did so against all the odds.
In regards to the last two years, though, I frankly thing that OSU needed to win those BCS games to cement its rep. Like it or not, success in CFB is measured by BCS wins and almost nothing else. Just look at OU--that team has been dominant for most of the decade but Stoops just cannot seem to win BCS games which is why Oklahoma is regarded as a good but not great program by many CFB fans and pundits.

The thing is, we're 4-2 in BCS games since 2002. You'd never get that impression after the last 2 title games.

Then explain to me how USC still gets respect for one NC they earned, and the other they didn't. As far as I know, Reggie and USC still haven't been cleared of anything.

tired of this

Blah Freakin' Blah blah

and it's only Monday.

The Buckeyes CAN win this game. and USC could POSSIBLY win.

nothing matters now except playing the freaking game.
Watch the Illinois game from last year.
watch the tape of the last two NC games.
then watch the game from last week.

Then watch the NC game with Miami.

Decide who you wanna be.

Play the game.

I'm out until Saturday.

Go Bucks! Just Win, Baby!
