Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

Inspirational band music brings tears to the eyes of fans; in one case, from emotional delight, in the other as disgust from the noise. Goes on at most college football games.

So, you think no other college band in america has students that wear sunglasses and act cocky? Come on now! I go to high school and college games, and the bands play continuously throughout the game. Are they not there to show support? Its okay if you just dont like the SC marching band, but the reasons in my opinion, cover just about every marching band there is.

Twice a year college football fans are subjected to the battle of two bands who know only two songs. ND vs UM and ND vs USC. That in and of itself is enough to hate the USC band by assosciation. Add in the fact that they strike up the band for every play that makes positive yardage even if it doesn't win down and distance and it turns the stomach.

Not that I much care in the big picture, but my "problem" with the SC band is that it seems to just play for the sake of playing. By that I mean it seems to "celebrate" the mundane... You know... a 3 yard carry on 1st and 10.. STRIKE UP THE BAND!!!! It reminds me of the Penn State cat roar in that respect.

Eh....

Really... who cares.

Actually, the real question is -

when Troy#1 or Thomps throws a party, do they cover half of their living room with giant cardboard cut outs of shirts worn by previous party guests to give the appearance of a full house?
:p
Actually, I invite USC fans, and since I live in south carolina, guess which USC fans show up? The wrong ones!
