He's just grouchy because his balls itch.

Looks like USC has their own version of Mike Hart. "Mays the Mouth".

My thoughts exactly man. Im VERY glad our players haven't given up any bulletin board material and are focused on the whole TEAM concept. Way to show TEAM pride Mays! :shake:

Yeah, that's one of the things that I think this year's team will have over most others, maturity. Our seniors (and juniors and sophs) have seen the effects that different attitudes can have. There were a bunch of LSU players saying that we were talking a lot of shit during the BCS game (which I don't believe for a second, especially considering how much the SEC talks trash), but between 06 and 07, I'm sure that our guys know that talk don't mean shit. I'm hoping that this year they are going to go out with the attitude that the actions on the field are the only things that matter. College football is an emotional game, and youthfull exuberence can create an advantage, but our squad is as close to an NFL team as you can get in the NCAA (for a team without Reggie Bush:biggrin:). Let the other teams beat their chests all they want, if our guys smack them around without batting an eye, they'll shut up before long.

USC intentionally pits offense against defense as part of Carroll's philosophy of competition. The coaches talk more shit than Mays did there (e.g. coach Demetrice Martin telling Joe McKnight on day 1 last year that his D wouldn't get beat by any of Joe's HS bullshit).

USC is a team on gameweeks between Wednesday and Saturday. In training camp and on Tuesdays, its offense against defense.

Reports from USC camp suggest that Mustain may fall to #3 on the depth chart.

nstead of being aggressive and taking control, he seemed to back off, appearing tentative and unsure of himself. In the first of three scheduled preseason scrimmages at the Coliseum, Mustain was outplayed by Aaron Corp, the redshirt freshman who had been the star of the spring game. Some said it was because Corp was playing with the first-team offense for most of the scrimmage and that things would change in the second scrimmage. Except that wasn't really the case. Most observers rated Mustain and Corp even in scrimmage No. 2, although some felt Corp had come out slightly ahead again.
Carroll hasn't said anything officially, but in practices this week, Corp, the more mobile of the two, has appeared with the first-team offense more often than Mustain. That is not a good sign for the Arkansas transfer.

No TBDBITL in the Coliseum

Unfortunately those of us viewing the OSU / USC game in person or at home will not get to see the legendary ?Script Ohio? performed by the Ohio State University Marching Band at the Coliseum. The ghostly image of ?Ohio? that is imprinted onto the field during the pre-game ritual and stays throughout the game is a treat most Buckeye fans truly look forward to seeing.

This absolutely blows. Now we will have to listen to the Trojan "band" blasting their crap every single play.

Regardless of how others see it, it's that very same thing at OSU. Everyone preaches "team" and what not........but the offense and defense are split up so much that this is the case at most major D-1 colleges. Plus, both units are packed full of so much talent that both sides have a huge chip on their shoulder.

Every single play? I thought they only played when USC gets a first down or touchdown. I'm figuring on about three times.
With no disrespect to troy #1 the USC Marching Band just really pisses me off. The sun glasses and cocky attitudes just really bug me. And their band actually does play after almost every play haha. It gets pretty damn annoying. But we can only hope they have no reason to play!

So, you think no other college band in america has students that wear sunglasses and act cocky? Come on now! I go to high school and college games, and the bands play continuously throughout the game. Are they not there to show support? Its okay if you just dont like the SC marching band, but the reasons in my opinion, cover just about every marching band there is. Oh, on the disrespect, none taken, I just thought that the reasons you used kinda covered alot of bands that perform in places where its sunny, and my experience with college kids, most are cocky! Thats all. Good post!:)
