Game Thread Ohio State 28, Troy 10 (Final, Sep. 20)

Troy is no joke.

I fully expect the Buckeyes to win, but it's unlikely to be a blowout IMO. Maybe win by 10-14.

I just found out I work with not one... not two... but THREE Troy Alumni! Freakin' Troy!?! What are the odds of that crap? Suddenly, I really care about how OSU plays in this game! I'm counting on this being the "bounce-back" game.

major key to the game: the team who scores more points will win this game...
What if we only kick field goals? Has that ever happened?
Oh... wait...
Umm... has that ever happened and then the team that only kicked the goals of field (us) actually wins the game because in some way they still score less fewer points or more greater points than the away team or even the home team if we played at Troy in Alabama (I mean the state of Alabama, not the team... I know we've never beaten Beer Briant) so anyway, has that ever happened?

The team will probably be down some from the USC game but in a way I think that can backfire against Troy. Ohio State will have a few players in their starting lineup and I'm sure that those players along with the rest of team will show Troy what an Ohio State football team really looks like.

To be fair, we've heard all the soundbytes for 3 years now. How much they learned from this humiliating defeat or how motivated they are by the negative press from that ass beating, they want to shut up all the doubters etc.

All I would say to them is spare us the anger/moral outrage angle and just do something on the field.

I am not thinking an anger/moral outrage angle, I am thinking more about going out and doing something so you don't get your ass chewed out anymore. This isn't about the players shutting up the doubters, it's about the players getting the coaches off their asses.

When in the last three years have we played a game a calendar week after getting ape-fucked? That's what I thought...

Mili said what I was thinking, the past couple years, if the guys have lost, they have had 8 months to let the wound heal. Now they have one week, I just hope the guys aren't too exhausted from the workouts they will have to endure as punishment.

Now with USC behind us and we have a good feel of where Ohio State stands in the picture of the 2008 season, things will start to settle in and
the coaching staff will get together and make the necessary changes to
get ready for the BIG TEN season. And who knows where things will end up
for the Buckeyes at the end of the Michigan Game. Its a wait and see game
from now on. Troy could be another great challenge for the BUckeyes as every week from now on will be the same.

Troy Game

This should be a good game to get Pryor some more game experience. Though he took a lot of hits Saturday night which should be a concern. He's no Tebow. But Pryor sure did move the ball much better than the starter. Though hopefully troy gives the defense a boost because they need it.

Pryor didn't take too many direct hits though. He's smart and gets hit on the side or gets ankle tackled. He won't lower the shoulders and go running in there line tebow he'll be more than ready (if not more ready). Plus i'd like to see Pryor in there used just like the USC game (more situationally rather than alternating drives) because after seeing USC Pryor will probably see the game a lot better against Troy who won't be anything in comparison to the MEN of troy.

+1

This is Troy's bowl game. Attitude and enthusiasm on both sides will decide the game.

well I'll share this with you.. My dad has called an upset on this one. He lives in that area and says they're dangerous on offense and pointed out Troy took Florida down to the wire last year or played them tough (can't remember which he said). I'm expecting a game where its much like the OU game and the fans start to boo (especially at Boeckman, which will piss me off) and Pryor will enter the game he'll run for around 60-70 yards and score a TD to win this game soemthing like 31-10 or 31-17 (score late to distance the score) and the debate will begin on who to start at QB.
