Game Thread Ohio State 28, Troy 10 (Final, Sep. 20)

I walked through a car show today in Ventura Calif with my Ohio State colors on. I got nods from homers, like we got your ass last night. After a brief walk through the show, I said good morning to a local guy. He said "not so good for you guys after last night". I said "it always good to be a Buckeye even when things don't go well". He looked puzzled at my response, and then said, "you get em next time". Another said "there's a brave soul". I was getting a little self consious, the next guy I saw that gave me the look, I said, Hey, how about the UCLA game? Silence.

Proud to be a Buckeye, Go Bucks.

I like that, very cool

Bud Shaw's Sports Spin: Wary of mighty Troy?

by Bud Shaw Wednesday September 17, 2008, 7:02 PM

Another colossal game awaits Ohio State
Jim Tressel says everyone in America looked at the OSU schedule and declared Troy its "most dangerous game."
Actually, the only nationwide consensus concerning the Buckeyes was that if they found their way into another BCS title game, the officiating crew would be wise to carry smelling salts and institute a standing eight count.

I'm really hoping this is just a result of the power outages...

Tickets available for Troy game

By Brian Kollars | Wednesday, September 17, 2008, 01:38 PM
Here?s a news release you don?t see every day: Ohio State football tickets are available.
THE OSU just sent us a message saying a limited number of tickets for Saturday?s game are available after Troy returned its unsold allotment. Apparently, Troy fans aren?t impressed with the Buckeyes, either.
Tickets can be purchased by going online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com and clicking on ?tickets.?
You might have to sit by some folks from Alabama (that?s where Troy is located, FYI), but it might be a nice break after a tough week.

This is Troy's bowl game. Attitude and enthusiasm on both sides will decide the game.
wrong, the team who scores more points will decide the game.

on the effort and enthusiasm, this team has yet to really show either. ysu was bad and the effort was mediocore. ou-terrible, little to no effort in the first half and played better in the second half. usc-the team quit in the second half.

id rather have effort than talent.

It's getting pretty close to gameday, and I think people are still talking more about the USC game than they are the Troy game. I can not believe we are a 21.5 point favorite against this team. They are experienced, and talented, on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately, they didn't get to play LSU, so we don't know how they will play against a good team, but they've beat up on the bad ones. And Middle Tennessee isn't that bad of a mid major either, and they beat them pretty good on the road. With Beanie out, and the offense in limbo, I don't think this game is over until late in the 4th quarter. If we don't play hard, and with our heads in the game, we could end up on the bad side of this outcome. I think though, that we will be focused enough to let the fact that we are more talented than them reign true. I also hope that we can have some plays, on both sides of the ball, that make things happen instead of react to what is happening.

TICKETS ON SALE!@ Tickets with a face value of $62 for the Troy game are being offered at slashed prices. You can get them from TicketLiquidator.com for $39 each, StubHub has them for $40, and somebody got a pair on eBay on Thursday morning for $75.
That prompts a series of questions: Is it the opponent, is it a general malaise in the wake of that USC blowout, or are people spending the day trying to clean up after Ike's horrible damage?
